"Mother! Mother! Please hang on, I'm almost there!" The young boy rushed to the burning house without hesitation. While he could not see far into the smoke, he did not waste a breath running straight into it.

Before long, he saw his mother crumpled underneath some furniture. Despite screaming for him to get away, he saw his mother hurt and he had to help. After lifting the cabinet obstructing her escape, the boy stayed by his mother's side as a crutch.

He was able to clear some of the fire before seeing a way out. Knowing he could make it, he hastened the pace.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw it. Within the flames with them was a singular shadowy sentinel. Even after turning to face it, he still could not make out everything. All that was visible were two red, soul-piercing eyes.

His mother attempted to use her body as a shield for her son, but he would not allow that. He put himself between her and the monster, beckoning the beast to face him. Despite putting up all the fight he could, there was no contest as the menace simply backhanded him once.

As his body flung through the burning pits and onto the cold dirt, he could barely keep himself awake. As his vision started to blur and mind slipped, he could only hear his mother's despairing shriek.

"JIN!"

Vengeance was his. The same 'Ogre' that had attacked him and his mother was finally dead. As the young warrior approached its body, the mesh of snake, lion, bat, and bull dissipated into several balls of light. Soon after, each speck separated across the globe, never to be seen again.

Knowing his victory was made possible by his grandfather, he turned to thank his teacher. However, he only met a hail of bullets that riddled his chest. He could reach out in agony as he saw one last sight.

Heihachi Mishima delivering the final blow.

Now, he was alone. He couldn't see beyond a dark mist that surrounded him in every direction. Not that he would be able to do anything about it. He was completely unconscious after feeling every bit of his body drained of power. All he could do now was hang in limbo.

"anger...." A whisper had breezed by his ear, but he could not make it out. "me...." More had spawned, but again, they were unclear.

Then, a chilling sneer of a laugh taunted him. Something was urging him to fight. "Curse me....Hate me....." The intent was no longer ambiguous. Suddenly, a face warped by malice and ambition appeared.

"Give into the anger! Curse me! Hate me! Hahahaha....!"

More popped in and loomed over his dangling body. Now with some control, the man flailed helplessly, doing all he could to drown out their message. But they would not be silenced. They would not falter.

And worst of all, they would win.

Images flashed into the mind. Ogre. Heihachi. Kazuya. Jun. And after all of the pain, the faces, one final image burned itself into Jin Kazama's subconsciousness.

Himself losing every fiber of his being to the entity that seared itself into a tattoo on his shoulder.

"Rise! Jin Kazama!"

Jin's eyes snapped open at the bottom of a pile of ash and embers. His body began mutilating itself to become more powerful. His skin paled, black markings stretched across his frame, horns sprouted out of his skull, and pitch-black wings grew out of his spine. Chains had also attached themselves to his limbs, his gauntlets grew spiked tips, and his footpads became studded boots.

The transformed leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu slowly mounted himself onto his feet. As he stared upwards past the smog, he could sense two men with sorrow in their hearts.

He smiled to himself knowing that their sorrow would soon become terror.

A loud and haunting bellow escaped his lungs to warn the two fighters of what they had just unleashed. With their attention back on him, the Evil Angel brushed off his wings before ascending the building's height. As he scaled each level, he reveled in the Street Fighter and the King of Fighter's increasing fright. Once he had reached them, he paused to view their faces.

Without a shadow of a doubt, both men were too shocked to move or take their eyes off of his new self. After casting a dreadful smirk, he announced his intentions.

"Fear the wrath of God...."

Ryu and Kyo reacted to this new threat with thoughts akin yet unique. To Ryu, this was another who had to be saved from his own darkness. To Kyo, this man gave into his temptations and embraced the evil in his heart.

Either way, both men knew they were going to face one of the toughest challenges in their lives.

The first move their new threat made was a dive kick directly at Kyo. He barely evaded the attack, but he would not escape the demon's clutches so easily. The next thing he knew, a firm grip was on his throat.

Seeing Kyo in peril, Ryu hastily rushed to his aid. Unfortunately, he didn't get far before the same man he was attempting to rescue slammed into him after being tossed aside.

As both men scrambled to their feet, they eyed one another carefully. They understood that their biggest threat was no longer each other and that they would need to work together to topple Devil Jin. After a simultaneous nod, Ryu fired a Hadouken while Kyo followed its trail. The plan was simple, yet effective. Pepper the demon from afar while offering a blistering assault to make defense difficult.

Little did they know that they were not dealing with the same Jin Kazama.

In a heartbeat, Devil Jin stepped underneath the projectile almost if he were a black mist passing by it. The next moment, Kyo was sent flying by a lunging uppercut. Before he could even process what happened, Ryu found himself thrown like a ragdoll by a boot.

After both had been propelled a few feet, they gave out their appropriate responses. Meanwhile, their opponent was observing them keenly. While he did not display anything apparent, bitterness was chipping away at his demeanor. Even at this point with, in no uncertain terms, a devil before them, they refused to give it their all.

"Pitiful. Why must both of you incur my rage further?"

The disdain on Devil Jin's face kept both men on edge. While Ryu wanted to reply meaningfully, Kyo simply brushed off the question as nothing more than a threat. True to his reckless abandon, Kyo stormed the Evil Angel's position with a torched fist. However, a clawed gauntlet caught his hand mid-swing.

Kyo did all in his power to push back the sturdy palm, but it simply wouldn't budge. Soon after, Devil Jin fired back with his own shot, which caught Kyo square in the sternum.

Not long after, Ryu launched himself into the picture. While he was able to score a few blows against Jin, his opponent simply dipped and ducked around a majority of the blows without issue. Soon enough, one of Ryu's arms were caught, causing it to be twisted behind his back before being shoved over Jin's shoulder and propelling the rest of Ryu face-first into the marble floor.

With one man down, the Devil Gene possessed Jin Kazama turned his attention to the other one. Kyo was wobbling, but he remained firmly in place. To his misfortune, he wouldn't be standing for long, as the demon leaped into the air and dive bombed at him, knocking Kyo flat on his back.

Before Jin continued beating Kyo down, he heard hefty steps behind him. As he turned, Ryu was slowly advancing toward him. However, the man's stance faltered as sweat poured out of him. Even in the face of such exhaustion, Ryu mustered up his reserves and hurled himself into the air, spinning into a Hurricane Kick.

Devil Jin scouted the move well before Ryu put it into action and countered it by performing his own flying spin kick, nailing the side of the ribcage as Ryu completed a rotation. To add insult to injury, Ryu would be continue to be juggled as the kick carried Devil Jin across the ground, only escaping further damage as one last roundhouse kick walloped him.

Once he had reached the ground, Devil Jin had to contend with Kyo once again, who had caught his second wind. The King of Fighters tried to force his opponent on the defensive, but instead found an aggressive offense trading blows with him. Kyo even found his own fighting style being overmatched.

As an elbow came dangerously close to spiking itself into Kyo's forehead, he doubled up and held it back. As he stared into the blank expression on Devil Jin's face, he began seeing traces of someone who had deeply despised his guts.

"Your resentment grows, Kusanagi. Is your anger at me? Or is that enmity directed at someone else?"

Kyo's facial features expanded startlingly before tightening with annoyance. Who did this guy think he was? He wasn't a know-it-all. He had no idea who Yagami was. It was time to shut him up. Kusanagi started sending several types of strikes across the board. Jabs, pokes, straights, hooks, roundhouses, whatever he could think up.

Every single one of them met a parry and then a merciless punish.

Afterwards, Devil Jin regained the aggressor role and pounded Kyo's stomach. Unable to do anything but grunt, Kyo was left at his attacker's mercy, not that he would receive any. A hand clamped on Kyo's throat, which straightened him up to meet another's gaze.

Not long after, Devil Jin's skull rammed into Kyo's. The blow disorientated Kyo, but that wasn't the end of his headache. More intolerable headbutts riddled several bruises across Kyo's temple. Eventually, the blows came to a halt, but the Scion of Flame could only fall backwards.

Shortly after Kyo's fall, the Street Fighter was able to pick himself up. He approached the King of Iron Fist from behind, but couldn't react in time to Devil Jin's next move, which was scooping up Kyo by his leg and slamming him onto Ryu. Both men fell through the metallic floor and onto one of the lower levels.

The two men laid crumpled underneath shredded metal and dust, but they would not catch their breath for long. As soon as the mist around them cleared, Devil Jin descended from above and drilled his legs into Kyo's back, making both men absorb a tremendous amount of physical trauma.

Devil Jin retreated a few feet away, allowing both men onto their feet. They were worn down, but neither wanted to go down. "How much longer do you need before you catch your breath?"

Kyo, in spite of his injuries, was adamant in going another round immediately, but Ryu kept him from going ahead. "You seem like you're capable of rational thought, Jin. If you can do that, then fight that influence!" Before he could continue his lecture, Kyo threw off Ryu's arm and darted his finger. "Especially if you can! I thought you ticked me off before, but this is just asinine!"

"You misunderstand. Even like this, I can maintain control of myself....and I pushed your buttons on purpose. Why? Because all I see when looking at you two......is wasted potential."

Kyo was quick to fire back. "Oh, here we go! Let me guess, you're going to judge me for my family history or something!?"

It was Jin's turn to point the finger. "Considering that part of you is the weakest, Kusanagi? In spite of your clan being chosen as protectors, 2 millennia has passed, and what have they accomplished? Keeping the greatest threat to your world sealed, nothing more. This cursed blood, no matter how much I loathe it, has allowed to do something more. I killed the rectifier of all things.....The Devil himself."  He then moved his pointer to the other man. "And you...Ryu....I see myself, a man who has no understanding of the true power he has, and is afraid of wielding it....but you don't need to feel that fear, as the power you have is what can change everything for you....No more will your enemies stand against you...You will crush them beneath the might of the Satsui no Hado and show that the strength of those who can beat the demons inside of them will survive. Those who feel they can stop us otherwise will know our might....stop being afraid Ryu....embrace your power, and make them fear you."

Alarm had gripped Ryu. He thought he had mastered who he was, but now, with someone tempting him, no, goading him to return to his old power, he couldn't shake the thoughts of bloodlust taking him over. Worst of all, he began seeing him....

As for Kyo....

"Man, I'd hate to see what your family gatherings are like."

Annoyed by Kyo's sarcastic response, Jin decided to thrust his arm outward, launching a gust of wind that sent both of his enemies through the wall behind them. As both exploded into the next room, soldiers of the Tekken Force stood aghast at the sight of the two tournament finalists in such a compromising position. They then visibly quivered as they saw their leader, stricken with marks, horns, and wings walk in with an unnerving stride.

"Your words can and will not deter me, Kusanagi. I can see what you wield, but you choose not to use everything at your disposal."

Every employee of the Zaibatsu started to slowly back away, knowing that their leader's wrath was something they did not want to become the target of.

The fighters, however, slowly forced themselves off of their backs and onto their heels. Once Kyo got up, his temper flared once more. "Yeah? Well, considering how busy we've been, how do you expect me to fight harder?"

In a few moments, Kyo would wish he'd never said those words. The crystal on Jin's forehead flashed as energy swelled up within it. A split second later, a laser fired. Ryu was unable to react to the surge of energy.

"LOOK OUT!" Thankfully, Kyo was a touch faster, tackling Ryu out of the beam's path. As a thunderous roar of destruction slowly died down, both men reared their heads up. The results they saw were utter carnage. The walls had been torn up and the steel floor had been shredded to bits.

Worst of all, they saw droves of bodies spread across the area, limp or struggling for help.

The sight of it caused Ryu to audibly shout "NO!" while Kyo turned to Devil Jin with a look of revile. "Bastard, those were your own guys!"

There wasn't an ounce of care within Jin's eyes. "They were a means to an end, nothing more. Those soldiers knew what they had signed up for, and if they cannot have the foresight to know what is in their presence, then I have no need for them."

Fed up with repressing his anger and trying to reach out to a monster, Ryu stomped onto his feet. "To treat lives as nothing but tools for you to manipulate and use.....I cannot allow this!"

Following his lead, Kyo took his own stand. "Damn straight, Ryu! Let's give this scumbag a piece of our mind!"

In response, Devil Jin smiled and waved them on to attack him.

Ryu and Kyo sent out a combined attack of their signature projectiles. They sped toward their target efficiently, but Devil Jin sidestepped the incoming barrage. The demon hastened to engage the two in close quarters. They were more than happy to oblige to his request, simultaneously dashing in.

The fighting duo launched out their fists, but their target was ready for them. Fists went into palms before they clenched mightily. However, the two men would not stay stuck there for long as Kyo freed his and Ryu's hand with a kick the groin. To follow up the staggering blow, Ryu aimed the edge of his foot to the beast's neck and launched his leg, sending it back with excessive force.

Devil Jin would roll to his feet, but wouldn't have time to catch his breath as the two kept on him. Ansatsuken and Kusanagi-ryu Kobujustu merged seamlessly, creating a barrage most men would be unable to match. They started to drive Devil Jin back, beating him through the wall they were thrown through.

Once all three had covered a few feet out of the other room, Ryu clobbered Jin into the air with a Rising Dragon Punch. Kyo was quick to follow, springing into the air before planting one of his heels into Jin's sternum. Another one came, blasting the two of them higher. As they peaked, Kyo flipped forward and landed a final heel to the back of the skull, sending Jin downwards for Ryu. When Jin's body lined up perfectly for a shot, the Street Fighter unleashed his Joudan Sokutegri, making his target soar through the air once more. As soon as Kyo hit the ground, it was time to wrap things up. He hopped over Ryu's shoulder and dashed toward Jin's helpless form, raining fists against it as he neared the body. After a solid three seconds of beatdown, Kyo ducked underneath Jin and thrust his arm upward. His fist lodged into the spine before exploding, catapulting the Mishima Zaibatsu's leader several feet away.

However, both men soon learned it would take far more than that to take Devil Jin down as the half-man, half-demon rose to his feet with mild discomfort.

Hoshi made haste to be at Kusanagi's side, but Kazama was quicker on the draw, bashing the older fighter with a flying roundhouse on his way in. Now that the two fighters were separated, Devil Jin turned his attention to Kusanagi. The strikes started flying left, right, and center as Kyo's offense went off. Each swing came close, but they barely missed their marks as Jin bobbed around and underneath them.

Suddenly, one of the clawed gauntlets flew out and crashed straight into Kyo's taped knuckle. The impact buckled the elbow, forcing Kyo to back off. Jin took up the offensive role shortly afterwards, trying to get through Kyo's guard. While nothing came at first, Kyo slowly opened up to the blows, unable to keep up with the tricky angles the blows came from.

While Kyo couldn't get a beat on Jin's moves, someone else did. Ryu had observed this style well, though Jin's usage varied in some ways. The crisp balance between unpredictable offense, defense, and technique no doubt belonged to Mishima-ryu Kenka Karate.

That's when the question of 'why use it now' popped into Ryu's head, but he decided to sort out that answer later as Kyo was forced onto his knees. Ryu swiftly approached, but before he could do anything, Jin intercepted him with an overhead splits kick, forcing Ryu to struggle against the leg's weight to prevent himself from being grounded. Before long, Kyo was back up, driving Devil Jin off of Ryu with his shoulder.

To his misfortune, Jin clamped on his skull with the clawed spikes he had for fingers and allowed his overexertion to trip himself. As Kusanagi slid across the ground, Jin vaulted into the air and fired away with his laser, ravaging and dragging Kyo across the ground.

The move left him wide open, however, for Ryu to come in and latch onto his back. Devil Jin nearly panicked as padded gloves battered his face, but he regained control quickly as he caught a fist and turned to Ryu. It was Ryu's turn to thrash around for safety as he was swung like a bat before being hurled into the air by Devil Jin's monstrous strength. Similar to his ally's treatment, Ryu recieved a chest full of laser, whiplashing across the empty space as the beam directed his movements. Once the beam stopped firing, Hoshi's body went into a pained freefall as he felt the burns in his chest.

Sadly for Ryu, that wasn't the end of the assault. Devil Jin flapped up to him and grabbed his leg before going even higher. Once they were a few yards off of the ground, Jin flung Ryu above him, causing the World Warrior to flip over. Once he neared, Jin grabbed Ryu by his midsection and plunged downward, smashing the two of them through several steel decks before colliding with a reinforced level.

Ryu's body was in total shock as the back of his head started spurting out blood. His mind swirled, his eyes were difficult to open, and he could only grunt as his throat was squeezed.

"What must I do to force your hand to use your true power, Ryu....do you think you're being brave by not using it? It seems that valor you have matches your sheer stupidity..."

While Ryu could not comprehend his words, he could certainly feel the threat and bloodlust in front of him. Futhermore, as his vision seemed to clear up, he began to see things.....differently.

"Ryu! Hang on, Ryu!" That voice...it couldn't be.....

The machine let go of his throat before changing his focus to someone else. A light illuminated from the front as the technology around his foe started to glow. A beam fired into the air as a person dropped onto the floor and engaged the android in hand-to-hand. The assailant fought valiantly, landing an array of kicks to his opponent, but it wasn't enough to drive him off.

As they circled one another, the soulless eyes flashed.

"Insolent welp! I'll crush you with my bare hands!"

The dictator's strength started winning out. He forced the other man into the corner and started wailing several shots into him. A trickle of blood sullied his fists, but that only seemed to excite the so-called 'man'. Energy sparked in his hands as he attempted another blow.

However, flames came out at him, staggering the head of a great organization backwards. More fiery attacks shoved him towards the other end.

As they neared the center, a fist was caught and a devious smile......

Turned into a murderous scowl.

Sickening thuds were heard as strikes became visibly through the back. Soon enough, a brutal shot the face hurled the opponent towards Ryu. As the skidded helplessly, Ryu, despite the numbness coursing through him, managed to widen his eyes as he saw his friend so pummeled.

In spite of the pain, his friend stood up to face the demon head-on. Flames went into his fist once more as the demon jumped high into the air.

At that point, Ryu could bear witness no more. There was no way he would just sit there as his ally would give a last-ditch effort that would end in death. Howls started escaping his mouth, but that only led to rage building in him as physical and mental pain built up.

The demon came closer and closer, ready to skewer his prey.

Ryu remembered his training and his teachings, but nothing worked. In such a situation, rationalizing was outright impossible. He could only focus on violence, rage, and madness. But if he didn't act fast, his friend would be dead. He had to lose himself. He had to become a monster. He had to fight to save his friend!

After whisking in as much wind as he could, Ryu grit his teeth as his old urges started to come out. The air around him became poison and the fire in his chest deepened. But both fueled him to become more powerful. Soon enough, his mind slipped.

And that's when it was time.

The sudden spike of energy caught Devil Jin's full attention, stopping mid-flight from connecting. Kyo, while a little confused, soon felt the dark presence behind him as well. He backed off slowly as Ryu rose to his feet.

Ryu's skin and clothes darkened, his eyes became red, and a mix of purple and red aura surrounded him. As he huffed like a wolf, he began to stare at his opponents. Both were marked for death.

Kyo, despite retaining his attitude, was taken aback. "You've got to be kidding! What is it with you guys and demonic powers!?"

On the other hand, Devil Jin gave a maniacal laugh at seeing the Satsui no Hado come out. "Finally, after all this time, I see you're not holding back anymore. Come, Ryu.....Become what you hate and embrace it....Then you will see things my way and pose a true challenge."

A distinctively savage roar of a voice made it apparent that this new Ryu wasn't much of a conversationalist nor one for pleasantries. "Spare me your words! This is the true power that I have withheld and now you see why I keep it inside! My calling is to battle! Battle in its purest form! You have not spawned me, but your own demise!" In what seemed like an instant, Evil Ryu closed the distance between him and Devil Jin as several afterimages followed his trail.  "Messatsu!" A vicious blow thrust toward the chest.

However, its target merely caught the blow with a look of disappointment. "You....are still holding back....I don't see you using the Satsui no Hado's full power....this is similar to a cornered animal acting out in rage. Why must you do this to me, Ryu...? You continue to force my hand and bring out what you're hiding."

"If your goal is to bring forth this murderous intent more, then FIGHT!"

THE SECOND ROUND COMES NEAR!

The booth was now full of several fighting game alumni. On the Street Fighter team, Ryu is accompanied by Ken, Chun-Li, Sakura, Gouken, Rose, Sagat, and Sean. On Tekken's end, Jin has Hwoarang, Xiayou, Wang, Asuka, Nina, Eddy, and Alisa with him. In the King of Fighters' camp, Kyo brought Benimaru, Daimon, Shingo, Ryo, Terry, Yuri, and Yuki with him.

Ryu: So, everyone ready?

Ken: You bet, bud!

Sakura: I second that, Ryu-san! You're totally going to kick their butts!

Yuki: As if Kyo would lose to that Ryo-knockoff.

Ryo: Hey!

Xiayou: Jin'll take it fair and square!

Hwoarang: More like he'll take it in a mudstomp once that frickin' Devil comes into play.

Ryu: Easy now, fellas. Let's enjoy this for what it is.

Jin: Without further ado-

Kyo: Y'all know what's next.

All: IT'S TIME FOR A DEATH BATTLE!

Ryu vs. Jin vs. Kyo Pre-Battle by GokuvsSuperman117

Mishima Zaibatsu.....
Sunset.....

It had only been hours since the building had been raided. Multiple casualties still had to be accounted for and the property damage would be in the thousands. If there was any solace to the situation, it was that the two who caused the incident weren't alive to tell about it.

But the search was still ongoing.

In front of a shattered window was the man who had owned it all. While he had successfully fought off an invading force and protected his best friend, there was much to figure out. For one, his father or grandfather could launch an attack if they found out about the Zaibatsu's compromised position. Other forces from parts unknown could also take advantage of the situation. Most of all, he still had loose ends to attend to.

"I know you're listening, Jin. The man you're looking for-"

"Jin." Xiayou had gripped her friend's arm. "I know you're still thinking about that man. Just let it go for the time being."

Her words fell on deaf ears again, as Jin merely gave a silent glare before turning back towards the window. Understanding that he would not drop his efforts so easily, Xiayou tugged at his arm to gain his attention. "Listen, if you're going to pull out all the stops to find this guy, make sure you stay safe, you hear me?"

He nodded to her as she let go. Before she started to walk, Xiayou halted and shared an idea. "You know, if he's a fighter like you, why not just start another King of Iron Fist to lure him in? Ever since you entered the third one, you could never stay away from the tournament."

For the first time in what seemed like an eternity, Jin faced Xiayou with an almost happy expression. "Xiao? Thank you."

Esaka, Japan....
One Week Later.....

Ownership of one of the leading forces not only in Japan, but the world. That was the promise that stirred quite a ruckus across the streets. Many entered the contest immediately, ravenous for the chance for power. Others signed up after some deep thought, thinking of the publicity they could gain and what they could do with such an organization. A distinct few joined simply to test their abilities on a grand scale.

One of those fighters was a legend to another circuit. He wore a black leather motorcycle jacket christened with his family symbol on the back, blue jeans with a pocket chain, fingerless gloves, and a pair of black shoes.

"Yo, Kyo-san, wait up!" A few of the man's friends came to see him off before the first round of the tournament. The first to greet him was an old fan and student.

"Shingo, old pal, come to see your sensei kick some tail?" The two shook hands firmly.

"Of course! It's always a blazing rush to see your matches!" Kyo's biggest fan threw his arms together in an attempt to drive his point home, but he ended up striking the giant next to him. "Oh, sorry Daimon-san!"

The mountain of a man merely smirked. "No worries, Shingo. Kyo, good luck in the tournament. While I won't be there to calm you down, make sure you don't cause any scenes."

Kusanagi nodded, but he kept no promises. This was his element and he had to let loose at some point. The last member to see him off was the Shooting Star. Knowing his pal, Kyo opened up with the most logical thing to ask. "So, Benimaru, you gonna ask something about me tipping off any women your way?"

"Not anymore. I mean, you killed the fun of it. Still, I wouldn't mind you doing just that. Now, go be you and start scorching punks left and right."

Kyo responded with a thumbs up before taking to his heels. Just as he crossed the entrance gate to the arena, he barely missed another man who was revered across the world. A burning feeling ran through his body, but he decided to make it to his match first. After clearing house in a frighteningly quick upset, he went back outside. Nothing. What a wasted opportunity, Kyo thought to himself.

Little did he know that he would cross paths with that man once more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been several days now and the tournament was reaching its final leg. As expected, the man Jin was searching for took the bait and rose through the ranks efficiently. Surprisingly, another man made short work of the competition as well.

He wielded the power of flames.

Jin's curiosity peaked once more. The Satsui no Hado was still his main focus, but would another contender host a power that could rival his own? The head of the Zaibatsu started looking into the fighter's history.

A tale of three clans blessed with control over flames. A double-cross born from jealousy that ultimately caused a war spanning generations. One flame was now shrouded in darkness. And the other? It clung to the light. That flame was of the King of Fighers' veteran.

The Flame of the Kusanagi.

Now his blood was burning. For so long, he had ceased usage of his emotions and cast himself to loneliness. He wanted to rid the world of his own bloodline. But now that knew that wasn't the only one of his kind, he had to embrace his power.

Without a moment to waste, Jin took a look at the bracket and summoned a few of his men. Both fighters were in the finals and both were on opposite ends of the world.

Perfect.

"Lord Jin, everything has gone according to your plan. All you need to do now-"

"Is to bring both back here."

"Sir?"

"I want you to personally greet our finalists. Congratulate the two for their efforts and tell them to accompany you back to the Zaibatsu. Their last battle shall take place on the Gargoyle's Perch."

All of the soldiers were clearly unnerved. Never had they seen Jin crack even a smile, yet here he was with an ecstatic look in his eye. It was enough of a message that no man would dare speak of their concerns. They made haste to fetch the World Warrior and the Scion of Flame.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gargoyle's Perch.....
Nightfall.....

The road was long. Many fights had transpired over a week, but each and every one mattered. With each battle, another step in the journey. With each strike, a new lesson learned. However, that day was going to be a true test of ability. But once it was over, the journey would be continued.

That is the mindset of the Wandering Warrior named Ryu.

He entered a circular area littered with high-tech paneling and rows of square windows. In the center was a glass floor that revealed a complex array of circuitry. By all accounts, the room, despite its small size, was a technical marvel.

The arena was a little too familiar for comfort. Was this another trap? And if so, exactly who or what orchestrated the tournament?

"So, you've made it, hobo."

The Street Fighter turned his head to see a Japanese native not much older than himself. While the quip wasn't a friendly greeting, Ryu still kept a pleasant attitude. "That's a little disrespectful towards a fellow fighter, don't you think?"

Kyo gave a good-natured chuckle. "Relax, man. I'm a dropout myself."

"I already know that."

"Heh, I should have guessed that." Kyo moved toward the center of the room, but never took his eyes off of his opponent. It was apparent the man had some knowledge of him, even if that knowledge ticked Kyo off.

Ryu followed suit, almost mirroring Kyo's movements. "How could I not know you? You're a big name in Japan, Scion of Flame."

"Please, call me Kyo. And you've got quite the reputation yourself, Ryu."

Both men were now smiling at one another. This was gonna be a match for both to remember. Ryu chucked his bag to his side, which landed squarely on one of the glass panels. Kyo cracked his knuckles by stretching his fingers. The two took to their respective stances; Kusanagi-ryu Kobujustu and Ansatsuken.

"We needn't use words. Now, let's fight!"

"No problem!"

The two veterans stomped on the glass ready to land a punch, but before their blows could connect, they froze as the floor shook slightly. Once they regained their footing, the circular center turned out to be a platform for an elevator. The machine quickly lifted the two off of the ground level and zoomed off at a quick pace.

As the Street Fighter and the King of Fighters ascended upwards, they took note of an energy slowly growing. To Ryu, the energy was familiar, alluring, and dreadful. To Kyo, it was monstrous, mysterious, and wicked.

However, both agreed that it was indeed powerful. They needed to be on the top of their game in order to face whatever was coming.

The platform stalled to halt. Where they landed was characterized by opaque lighting, plentiful candles, and a gothic atmosphere.

"Were the two of you ready to go at it?"

Both men turned to the source of a voice both menacing and soft. They found another fighter shrouded in shadows sitting on a throne. They remained on edge as they stared directly into eyes lacking emotion.

"And who might you be?" It was apparent that Kyo wanted nothing to do with this man. He was already focused on taking on a world-renowned fighter. "Make your introduction snappy and then butt out. Just because I'm known for being on teams of three doesn't mean I like a third wheel."

"Your temper's quite famous, Kyo. But I shouldn't be surprised by that. You do wield the flame of the Kusanagi Clan."

Kyo's eyes quickly turned from cocky to smoldering. "How do you know about my family's history!?"

"And you, Hoshi, host a power similar to my own. I would call you a kindred spirit, but I doubt your control and ability with it."

The Scion of Flame was ready to burn the silhouette to cinders, but Ryu stopped his advance. "You know about the Satsui no Hado? I knew there was more to this tournament than I thought. Well, enough with the subtlety, show us your face."

The leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu obliged and rose from his seat before stepping into the dim blue lighting. He was another Japanese man, but he seemed much younger than either. He was clad in black pants with a flame decal, red gauntlets with a triangle-studded pattern, and red footpads for his feet. His hair was jet-black, spiky, and silky.

"I am the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu." Ryu cringed at the word 'Mishima', as he met another with the same name and with a similar getup. "But that name means little to me. You will call me by my birth name, Jin Kazama."

"Let me ask you one thing. Are you related to Kazuya Mishima?"

Jin's eyebrows twitched slightly, but his composure did not falter. "I am that man's blood."

However, before Jin could elaborate, Kyo interrupted him. "So, you're some guy's son? Big deal. I can tell you're packing a lot of power behind that bulk. That's what matters most to me."

The Evil Angel gave a distinct smirk on his face. "Truly single-minded. But you're not wrong. I do have that in spades, far more than either of you can handle. Once you come to face me, I shall teach you the meaning of fear.

For the first time, Kyo's ticked disposition shifted into smug pride. "Oh, you're more powerful than us? Fine by me! It's a lot more fun that way!"

On Ryu's end, he gave a concerned stare, but remained unflustered. "It is the Devil Gene. Very well, I'll take this battle in with the utmost importance. Let's go."

Orange flames covered Kyo's fists as he took to his family's martial stance. Ryu entered his own style's posture as he took a deep breath. Jin slid into Kazama-ryu Kakushinjustu without missing a beat.

A moment passed before each fighter leaped at one another with their fists at their side.

ENTER THE HEAT OF BATTLE!

FIGHT!

The three fists collided. The mere impact was enough to blow out the nearby candles. Once all three returned to the ground, Ryu's fist whiffed against Jin's cheek. Before he could he could follow up, Kyo forced him to duck under a roundhouse. As Kyo turned around, he barely missed a straight to the jaw by Jin. The three would trade blows, but none of them connected as a blur of punches and kicks went on for a full minute.

Eventually, Ryu backed out as he dodged a leg sweep. The one who threw it was Kyo, who attempted to chase Ryu down, but had to change his focus as he was bludgeoned by Jin's gauntlet.

The Kusanagi and Kazama arts clashed furiously; Jin kept a technical defense as he parried Kyo's quick rush offense. However, the Mishima Zaibatsu's leader ultimately underestimated his adversary's moveset, as Kyo feinted a kick before nailing Jin in the chin with not one, but both of his boots.

Kazama staggered, giving Kusanagi a chance for an attack. He whirled back his fist and sought to launch it, but forgot about the other finalist. Seeing his chance, Ryu charged Kyo and thrust his fists in a rapid succession to the abdominal area. The King of Fighters dropped back with each hit, unprepared for the assault.

At that moment, Jin caught his breath and attacked Ryu. The practitioner of the Assassin's Fist had no time to react as Kazama-Style Self-Defense beat him across the room at an alarming rate. Once the two crossed to the opposite end of the room, Ryu attempted to counter, but ended up crashing right into an electrified fist that blasted him into the nearby candelabra.

Now it was Kyo's turn to take advantage of the situation. As Jin reeled back into his stance, Kyo lunged at Jin with his heel. The bottom of his shoe dug into Kazama's spine before the force launched the King of Iron Fist. Without delay, Kyo followed up by smacking Jin in the face as the latter rolled onto his feet. A few more punches landed before Kyo grabbed Jin's flailing arms and whipped the man over his head toward the middle of the room.

He wanted to capitalize on the situation-

"HADOUKEN!"

But a blue flame that emerged from Ryu's palms forced Kyo to jump away from Jin. A multitude of other Ansatsuken-styled ki blasts kept Kyo on the defensive for more than he was comfortable with. Luckily for Kusanagi, he was able to capture the rhythm of the oncoming blasts, more easily dodging them as time went on.

At one point, Kyo was able to break away from the stream of blue ki and waved his fingers back and forth. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. I can do that a lot better than you!" Fire engulfed Kyo's fist as he brought it behind him. "Eat this!" His arm flung out, sending out a trail of blazing flames that traveled toward Ryu.

In response, Ryu shot out another Hadouken.

Blue clashed against orange in a spectacular fashion as the two fires attempted to overtake the other before both dissipated into the air.

Feeling confident in his ability, Kyo sent another Yamibarai, but Ryu didn't feel the need to compare their usage of their special powers. He was there to test his own skill, so he leaped over the incoming fire trail and kicked Kyo square in the sternum. The Scion of Flame tried to answer back with his own strike, but he found himself hoisted up by his jacket flaps before being leg-tossed by Ryu.

Both men scrambled to their feet and began trading blows. Despite the two furiously aiming for an advantage, neither could gain one as they retained a back and forth slugfest.

Meanwhile, Jin analyzed both of his finalists. Underneath Kyo's ego and hot-blooded attitude, there was a crisp veteran who wore his heart on sleeve. Ryu, despite seemingly having nothing common with the man, had the same distinction. Both were indeed great fighters, worthy of being of champions. But there was also something frustratingly apparent.

They were holding back their full potential.

Jin had to shake things up, so he charged energy into his hand. Then, as the two attempted to swing at each other simultaneously, he thrust his electricity-surging arm out to summon an orb of ki between them, flinging both onto their backs.

The King of Fighters was the first to realize what happened and slammed his fist on the floor, darting infuriated eyes at Jin. "You coward!"

Kyo threw himself onto his feet and sprinted forward with an ignited knuckle. Jin's arm swelled with a red aura.

Fists collided, bashing fire and electricity against one another in a struggle for dominance.

"Quite a remark from a man who runs from destiny." Jin pushed back Kyo's fist steadily. "Your blood is tied to a history shrouded in mysticism, yet you deny all the implications set in place. Instead of accepting reality, you turn tail and flee."

Suddenly, Kyo struck Jin with his free arm before booting him back. "I don't need a lecture from the likes of you! I'll do what I want and no fake prophecy or misguided fool will dictate my actions!"

He went in for another blow, but Jin scouted it and threw it to the ground before kicking Kyo in the face. "Arrogant child. You can't even use your power properly."

If Kyo wasn't angry before, that comment guaranteed that he was livid.

Flamed fists swiped wildly at Kazama, but both were intercepted and redirected. Kyo gave it another go, but much of the same happened. A third attempt was under way, but a spinning backhand stopped him dead in his tracks. Stars circled around Kyo's glazed eyes as Jin shoved his fist right into them. The King of Fighters went flying before slamming onto the ground in a crumpled position.

There was no time to rest, however, as the Rising Dragon was now on his feet. The Outcast of the Mishima turned to face him. "Speaking of someone being unable to use their power properly....."

Ryu felt no need to retort, instead blasting away at Jin. Each blue blast was countered by a red orb, creating several streams of purple that lit the room.

As one would expect, both grew impatient with the repetition of Hadouken meeting Penetrating Fist and ceased such a tedious back and forth. Both instead opted to run up to others' face and deliver any hit they could.

Once again, a stalemate was found.

"Impressive, you stay as calm as the wind, yet your fists tell me you can be as ferocious as fire!" Ryu swung at Jin's head, but the blow was blocked by triangular studs.

Jin batted the fist back before raising his leg to Ryu's side. The World Warrior's ribs were compressed slightly, but his arms absorbed most of the impact.

"It seems you are well-trained as well. But I can see that I'll win this fight." Jin started to take control of their exchange with more of his own blows connecting. Ryu, despite being in good shape, had his blows answered by a superior defense. "I know this angers you. Your fighting instinct wants you to win, yet you resist that will. Embrace it and you may have a chance."

Even after a kick to the jaw, Ryu stood firmly. "I assure you, I will fight you and take a victory, but it will be on my own terms!" After taking another kick, Ryu was able to ram it with his knee and force Jin back into his stance. Without a moment to waste, he aimed a straight to Jin's face.

Unfortunately, the punch was too obvious to connect, allowing Jin to slip by. Not only that, but Kazama caught the wrist and shoved the inside of the elbow back into Ryu's face. Next, Jin gave a tug forward, stretching Ryu's upper half backwards, putting the Rising Dragon into a position of extreme discomfort.

Before he could react, however, Ryu felt himself jerked forward and then hoisted into the air before his back crashed against the glass floor. Next thing Ryu knew, a heel smashed into his face.

"Hmph. You're completely naive, Ryu. Your hubris is dictating you, not your experience or knowledge. As long as you refuse to use everything at your disposal, you will never win."

Tink.

Before he could continue his lecture, Jin noticed a dubious environmental complication. The glass beneath him and Ryu was giving way. His next steps had to be softer than a rabbit's if he or the other two were to get away unscathed.

That's when it hit Jin. Other two. Ryu was stuck underneath his foot, so where was Kyo? He glanced over to where the Scion of Flame was supposed to be.

He wasn't there.

"Heads up, hedgehog!"

Instinctively, Jin reared his head upwards. The next moment, a guillotine of an elbow lodged itself right into his throat. The force of the blow overwhelmed Jin's body and caused him to slam right on top of Ryu and the three blasted through the brittle floor.

Despite his air being cut off for the moment, Jin was able to force Kyo's arm off of his neck before nailing him with a blow to the side of the head. The two exchanged several punches as their descent fastened.

Eventually, Jin was able to free his pinned lower body and booted Kyo off of him. He then used Ryu's body as a platform to jump off of and meet Kyo in mid-air. They swung mighty hooks, but they interlocked instead of connecting blows. Seeing they would soon plummet to their deaths, they spun around to line themselves up with a nearby floor and launched off of each other to land on said floors.

After both brushing themselves off respectively, they stared each other down. Kyo's gaze was seething, yet excited. Jin's glare was restrained, yet focused. After a few moments passed, both sprinted toward one another, preparing themselves to leap the large gap between the two of them.

"SHORYUKEN!"

Just before Kyo was about to make his leap, he froze up as he saw a fist emerge through the concrete floor beneath Jin and nail him straight in the chin. The blow even knocked him into the air for a short time before he plopped back down. Before he could even process what happened, Jin found himself whipped onto feet before getting another punch to the jaw.

Kyo chuckled at the sight of a young punk like Jin getting battered, but it wasn't long before he wanted to get back in the mix. After backing up a few steps, Kyo went for the jump. Unfortunately, he leaped at the exact moment Ryu decided to toss Jin off of the floor, causing Jin to crash into Kyo and both to tumble onto a lower level.

The Ansatsuken practitioner quickly followed them, only to find the two already on their feet. All three men traded glances for a few seconds before one made his move. Jin barely crossed his arms before a scorching fist drove itself into them. Jin dragged Kyo's arm toward himself in order to enact a brutal punish, but he was in fact lured in for a vicious elbow to the side of the head. Not content with a single elbow, Kyo started railing Jin with more of them. Despite Jin's defensive mastery, the mix-ups Kyo inflicted powered through all of his parries and guards. Now that Jin was exposed, Kyo sent him packing with a powerful 1-2-3 beefed up by his flames.

Not wanting to be left out of the fight, Ryu motioned Kyo to engage him.  The KOF veteran answered the challenge by rushing right at him. It was a bad move, as Ryu simply peppered the incoming attacker with more ki blasts. While Kyo was able to dodge a majority of the blasts, a few were held in place before they smacked him in the face. Despite eventually covering the distance between them, Kyo's game was completely thrown off. When he went for a strike, he hit air. When he attempted to close the gap, he met a fist to his chest. Every one of his offensive measures were not only countered, but met back with equal force.

Kyo ended up tiring himself out, allowing Ryu to leap into the air and spin around like a helicopter with his leg acting as the rotary blade. The Tatsumaki Senpukyaku sent Kyo soaring, but before Ryu could land, an arm grabbed his outstretched leg and chucked it to the ground, slamming the rest of Ryu in the process. As Ryu rose to his feet, he saw Jin dash forward before an electrified uppercut made contact with his chin. As soon as Ryu hit the floor, Jin kicked him back up into the air before juggling the Wandering Warrior shortly afterwards.

Ryu stood up again, only to barely intercept and deflect another uppercut. The two slowly shifted toward the opposite end of the room before Ryu charged in with a punch aiming for the collarbone. Jin shifted his body to allow the blow to pass before punishing it with his own strike to the solar plexus. With his opponent momentarily paralyzed, Jin wasted no time delivering a series of lance-like thrusts. Soon enough, Ryu was backed toward a door before a solid elbow strike to the stomach blasted him through it.

What lied behind the door was a singular staircase, which Ryu tumbled down before barreling into another door. Inside of the room were two Tekken Force soldiers who gave the appropriate reaction of surprise, then malice. However, before they could jump Ryu, their leader appeared in the doorway and smashed his fist into the chest, launching Ryu across the room and into some expensive equipment.

"What the heck, sir!? We just finished cleaning the perime-" The soldier was whacked on the noggin by his superior.

"Don't yell at him! He'll rip us apart!"

"Oh, right! Sorry, sir!" The two soldiers stiffened as Jin slowly passed them and proceeded to do further damage to Ryu. Shortly after, another fighter passed by them and leaped into the fray. "I think it's best if we just leave." Without another word, both men bolted out of the room.

As Jin was battering Ryu's prone body, Kyo lunged at Jin's back and wrestled him to the ground. A series of elbows drove themselves into Jin's defenseless skull until Kyo was kicked off of him. However, this only led to Kyo stomping a mudhole into Jin's ribcage. In desperation, Jin blindly swept his leg across the ground, which luckily knocked Kyo off of his feet. After both men scrambled up, Ryu was back up as well, who proceeded to tackle Kyo over a nearby railing.

The two ended up piled on a walkway stretching over both sides of the building. Ryu was the first to his feet, delivering a donkey-like kick to Kyo's midsection. After rolling for a bit, Kyo staggered onto his soles, facing down Ryu. Without hesitation, Kyo slipped into his rushdown mindset. This time, he was able to close the gap without any fireballs slowing him down. However, Ryu answered his offense by slipping and parrying the incoming blows. In an attempt to throw Ryu for a loop, Kyo shoved his foe away before launching himself into the air and aiming an axe-like toe toward Ryu's face.

In actuality, all Kyo did was set himself to be knocked out of the air by a Dragon Punch. The powerful uppercut overpowered the R.E.D. Kick and propelled Kyo a substantial distance away. Not too far away, Ryu heard someone land behind him. Not too long afterwards, Kyo was up on his feet again.

The Street Fighter, the King of Fighters, and the King of Iron Fist analyzed the situation carefully. Each man had picked up several things about the others and each man became tenser as a result. Ryu had faced several offensive maelstroms like Kyo, but Jin's defensive measures and complex stances pit at a disadvantage. In Jin's case, although he had Ryu pegged, Kyo's mix-ups were far too unpredictable for even Kazama-ryu Kobujustu. For Kyo, though he could overwhelm Kazama, Ryu's fighting style, despite being similar to another art of fighting, was perfected in balance and execution.

Surprisingly, Kyo wasn't the first to strike. Jin charged Ryu's position and kept a steady offense against him. While Ryu was able to block some of the strikes, he couldn't read Jin's stance shifts in full. Eventually, Kazama dashed forward again, making Ryu put up a high guard in preparation for an uppercut. Instead, Jin's leg swiped the legs and knocked Ryu to the ground, which led to Jin throwing his entire body weight on top of Ryu to finish off his combo.

It was Kyo's turn to get involved. As Jin turned to face him, fire ignited Kyo's fists. They clashed again, only this time Jin was far more aggressive than his earlier bouts with the Scion of Flame.

"Oh? You think you can go blow-for-blow with me? Bring it on then, gloomville!" The two flailed, dodged, and missed several times. Unfortunately, before a victor could surface, Kyo was again thrown out of the way for Ryu and Jin to square off.

That little stunt put Kusanagi at his boiling point, but he refused to give into his anger. He took a deep breath and calmed himself as he saw the two brawling it out. Jin's turtle-like defense kept Ryu's steady assault at bay. Kyo understood he could break through that shell, but Ryu's style still needed to be accounted for. His pressure-based tactics wouldn't psyche out someone like that.

It was time to switch things up.

Kyo sprinted toward the two of them as fast as he could. The others took note of his hustle and evaded his incoming flame thrust. With Jin and Ryu separated, Kyo engaged the defensive player first. In an instant, a punch drives itself into the sternum, causing Jin to double up. Before he could recover, a blow to the cheek temporarily knocked him down.

In an attempt to capitalize on an opportunity, Ryu charged forward and aimed a shot directly at the back of the skull. However, unlike Ryu's earlier bout with Kyo, the dropout brawler bobbed his head to the side and grabbed the arm to throw Ryu over his shoulder. The Wandering Warrior doubled up, expecting some sort of smashing blow. Shockingly, Kyo actually backed away and beckoned Ryu to get back up.

Although confused about the situation, Ryu gladly accepted the man's provocation. His first move was to launch projectiles to throw Kyo into a state of evasion. To Ryu's misfortune, Kyo would not play that game. Similar to how Ryu had jump kicked him earlier, Kyo delivered a R.E.D. Kick straight to the front of Ryu's face as a Hadouken was fired. The next moment, Ryu was given a superkick to the chin that unsettled him even further. Ryu again guarded himself, but to no avail as no attack came. Instead, Kyo again awaited Ryu's move.

"You're learning fast, Kyo." Ryu complimented.

"Heh, thanks. But truth be told, I remember fighting just like you. Had to give it up at a point, but that doesn't mean I've forgotten any of it." Kyo threw out a small trail of embers as a sign of respect. In response, Ryu tightened his headband.

Suddenly, Jin's eyes snapped open and he lunged straight at Kyo's back. Before Jin could get into any kind of grapple, an elbow connected with his stomach and knocked the wind out of him. Next thing he knew, Kazama found himself flying through the air before he was able to take back control of his body. Ryu and Kyo were once again in a deadlock, except Kyo was moving considerably faster than his opponent. For every strike Ryu sent, Kyo answered back with three more.

Intrigued and, more importantly, miffed, Jin devised a strategy to take out Kyo from the fight. He was preoccupied with Ryu, so the best course of action in Jin's mind would be to strike him during one of his assaults against the other. Jin quietly approached the man's back and as soon as the arm raised for a punch, Jin lunged at it. He was able to catch it with both of his arms, but found it incredibly difficult to budge.

"Don't think I haven't picked up on your tricks, snake!" As it turned out, Kyo fully expected the move and turned to face Jin. They grappled for a short time before Kyo took control of the hold and used his leverage to pick Jin up and slam him into Ryu. Not content with just that, Kyo proceeded to hoist Jin onto his feet before grabbing his wrist with one hand and chucking him across the room.

Now the only one standing, Kyo set his sights back on Ryu. The man was on his knees, panting and sweating from the rigorous battle. "Looks like I take this round." Ryu wiped his lip and rose up for the next one.

However, before either man could lock horns, a cackle of electricity was heard within earshot of Kyo. Before he turned around, a blur zipped past his side. When he snapped back, he found Ryu in a crumpled position and Jin surging with red electricity. "Tch, you're really getting on my last nerve! What's your game, huh!?"

The leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu coldly stared back at the heir of Kusanagi Clan. "Game? I assure you, I am taking this battle with the utmost care. Besides, shouldn't you worry about your sake?"

Kyo's face contorted into a seething scowl as he rushed Jin. Kazama burst into his own sprint, catching his target with a shoulder charge. Kyo quickly rolled onto his feet and went back to his aggressive rushdown against Jin. However, Jin was able to keep pace much better than last time. Eventually, Jin was able to reverse one of Kyo's blows and whip him around to the other side. Using Kyo's forward momentum, Jin then tugged at the wrist and chuck slammed Kyo the floor.

Although furious, Kyo managed a smirk as he got up. "As annoying as your fortitude is, I have to say it's top-notch. But, you're not going to best me with it!" Kyo charged in with his arm ignited.

At the same time, energy spiraled around Jin's body as he stood upright with one of his arms cocked behind him. He grunted deeply as that energy became lightning. Once Kyo was in striking distance, the power within Jin concentrated into his fist as he plunged it forward. Kyo attempted to throw his own fist out, but it was overpowered ferociously by the Eighth Gate of Hell.

The force of the impact sent Kyo off the edge of the walkway. He screamed in pain and terror as it seemed like he would plummet dozens of feet into sure death. Thankfully, he was able to grab onto the ledge of another walkway and pulled himself up. As he rested up, it felt like a knife penetrated his right palm. When he checked his wound, his fist was shaking as red lightning coursed through it. In his fury, Kyo ignited his fist again and bashed it against the floor. After a few good pounds, his hand went back to normal.

Soon after, Jin landed a few feet away from him. With the man responsible for scorching pain in his sights, Kyo was ready to savagely tear the man apart.

"Dammit, you could've killed me with that stunt!" Kyo forced himself off of his knee and lifted his curled right hand to Jin.

"I apologize, but I knew you would be able to take it. And from the looks of things, there's still a lot left in you." Even though his concern for Kyo's well-being was genuine, Jin's inability to effectively emote enraged Kyo further. Without warning, Kyo pounced Jin, but the latter was a touch faster, landing a wicked gut shot into Kyo's gut. A trickle of blood escaped Kyo's mouth, but before he could do anything about it, Jin started hammering several spots across his upper body. After several seconds of a solid beating, Jin winded up one more blow to seal the deal.

However, Kyo was able to catch a second wind and countered Jin with a blow to the head, his forearm ripping up the middle of Jin's forehead. As his opponent was stunned for the moment, Kyo mustered up as much energy as he could. His body began emitting a flash that wildly appeared and disappeared. Jin, noticing this surge of energy welling up in his adversary, rallied ki into his own body. As the energy spread throughout, his fists lit up with red glows.

With both men supercharged, they lashed out, going blow-for-blow for several minutes. Kyo's energetic pressure fighting was answered by Jin's wary stance and parries. In turn, Jin's progression was halted at every turn by a multitude of savage strikes.

As the fight went on, however, Kyo's flames and wild fighting style started to win out. While that would be good in most situations, it stirred something within Jin; something sinister. He needed to keep control over himself or risk losing himself to his other half. Even if he wanted to ascend into it, he would only use it willingly if it were absolutely necessary. Now was not one of those times, but Kyo was forcing it, albeit unintentionally.

Desperately wanting to the end the confrontation as much as possible, Jin powered up for another Eighth Gate of Hell. This time, however, Kyo saw it coming and decided to brace himself by matching its might with a 182 Shiki.

Once the two reached their peak, they launched their trump cards. The energy of their attacks ripped apart most of the walkway and sent both men onto their backs. The ground beneath them started crumbling, forcing both to quickly flee to the closest exit. Unfortunately, the escalation of their shockwave assured that they wouldn't be able to make it to the end.

In desperation, Kyo flung himself to a falling railing in order to ensure his safety. Jin had done the same, grabbing onto the opposite end of the section Kyo hung onto. Only by the skin of their teeth were they able to escape a deadly demise, but their problems were not over. They still needed to climb up.

Immediately, Kyo went into overload. "Some mess you got us into, man! Now be a pal and find us a way out of this! Unless you actually want us to fall!"

Meanwhile, Jin kept his stern expression even at that point. "This is no time for jokes Kusanagi." He attempted to shift upwards, but he nearly slipped.

Noticing their predicament, Kyo found he was holding onto a less slippery part of the railing. Without delay, he informed Jin of their positions. "Who says I'm joking!? I'm being serious here! I can pull us up, but you're going to need to work with me here."

Unfortunately for Kyo, Jin wasn't up to it. That earlier feeling came back and started eating away at his consciousnesses. "You mean you'd rather help your enemy than finish this fight?"

Understandably flabbergasted by Jin's strange response, Kyo half-smirked in his retort. "You want to go here? Right now? Heh, you know for a guy who has the emotional spectrum of a log, you sure got some daring sides to you. But I think we have something more important than fighting while hanging over a fiery rubble below."

He outstretched his hand, but instead of receiving another to grab, a foot swung out and would have hit his side had he not blocked it in time. "Hey! Warn a guy! Look I'd rather we not do this-" Another attack came dangerously close to knocking him off, but Kyo repelled it. "Okay you know what, fine, you asked for this!"

The two continued their fight despite their compromising position and the perilous drop that awaited either man. Jin went for one more kick that would have surely knocked Kyo off, but a sudden pulse stopped him. His eyes widened with fear before he grit his teeth and placed a palm over his face. Kyo decided that if things were going to go his way, he needed to end the struggle fast, so he charged up fire into his knuckle.

Now barely conscious, Jin lowered his hand just in time to see a fiery fist clock him to unconsciousness. It was Kyo's turn to express shock as he realized Jin's wavering form at the last possible moment. He screamed 'NO' in his mind as the other's grip gave way. "JIN!" Kyo reached out to try to save his opponent.

He missed.

Regret filled his soul as he saw the younger fighter fall several stories lifelessly before crashing into a pile of ash. He climbed up the railing sorrowfully and found Ryu at the top."There you are! Give me your hand!" Kyo stretched out his arm, allowing Ryu to pull him up. "That was too close. Are you alright?"

"I....I am....thanks, Ryu...." The Wandering Warrior picked up on the Scion of Flame's tone, spreading bewilderment across his facial features. Reluctantly, Ryu shot out a question. "What happened? Where's Jin?"

"He....I didn't meant to....I was just trying to reason with him, but he just wanted to keep fighting...I wanted to save him Ryu, I did....but Jin....he fell...." Kyo fell to his knees, his fighting spirit completely crushed. Solemnly, Ryu placed his hand on the man's shoulder.

Their battle was over.....or was it?

At the bottom of the abyss, a corpse started twitching. The embers around it started flickering before returning to the Earth as ash and brimstone. The corpse's mind projected activity as well, wailing several traumatic experiences within it.

A house burning down with a colossus standing alone in the fire.

The betrayal of a master and a grandfather by gunshot to the skull.

And the sight of a man consumed by hatred, spite, and ambition. His words lingered on without interruption.

"Give into the anger! Curse me! Hate me! Hahahahahaha....!"

Ryu and Kyo felt a chill run through their spines as they turned to look at the long abyss. A haunting roar scaled up the layers of the complex and a dark presence overshadowed the area. Both men got into stances as they prepared for what was coming. They heard a distinct swooshing sound close in on them.

Then, they saw him. A man transformed by some unknown and ungodly power. There were markings all over his pale body, horns had sprouted out of his forehead, pitch-black wings were attached to his back, a red crystal lay dormant on the middle of his face, and piercing soulless eyes gazed at them.

In the place of a fighter, a demon emerged to face them.

"Fear the wrath of God...."

I have(n't) been tagged by :iconvolts48:.

Seeing as he is a fellow American (Okay, he's from Seattle, but hey, a couple states above, or in this case bellow haha, isn't something to discriminate), may as well do his questions.

1. Smoking or Non-smoking?

I don't smoke, but that doesn't mean I have to stop others from doing so.... *dies from second-hand smoke*

But now that knew that wasn't the only one of his kind, he hadto embrace his power.

Once you come to face me, I shall teach you the meaning offear.

John and Angela.......are nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, Ryu, Jin, and Kyo are currently waiting for their cue.

Ryu: So.....

Kyo: What's taking those two so long!? I wanna get out of here already!

Jin: I should've left long ago.

Ryu: Hang on. I don't think they'd ditch their combatants without a proper explanation. Let's see what's inside.

Jin: This is a complete waste of time.

All three enter and find the room deserted.

Kyo: Where are they!?

Jin: Well, I'm leaving.

Ryu: Patience, friends. *looks around the room* Over there.

Ryu goes up to the table and pulls out a small note.

Jin: What's it say?

Kyo: Let him read it first!

Ryu: It says "We apologize for not letting you know, we were in a rush, but we are on vacation. If you show up and find this note, please make yourselves at home. You may leave if you wish and we'll reschedule our prelude together. From John, Angela, and Marek."

Kyo: Who the hell's Marek?

Jin: Doesn't matter. I'll be on my way.

Kyo: I agree with the brooding jerk. Laters.

Both motion towards the exit.

Ryu: Hang on a moment.

Kyo: What now?

Ryu: I think we should do the commentary by ourselves.

Jin: No.

Kyo: Are you kidding me!?

Ryu: It could be a fun experience. And who knows, maybe it'll better us.

Jin: I already said no to this.

Kyo: Same, man. I'm not doing it.

Ryu: Alright, what plans do you two have?

Jin:.....

Kyo:......Seriously? Neither of us have anything?

Jin: I'll only do it on the grounds that this will educate me.

Kyo: It better be fun for me.

Ryu: Glad to have you guys onboard. I'm Ryu Hoshi-

Jin: Jin Kazama-

Kyo: And Kyo Kusanagi. And we're here to see who'll win in a.....Death Battle.....We're not actually going to murder each other, are we?

Jin: That would be pointless.

-During his second tournament, Jin made it to the seventh round before being ambushed by the Tekken Force. While he fought off most, he was eventually captured and chained up in Honmaru. Afterwards, he defeated Kazuya Mishima and Heihachi before flying away.
-Before the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5, Jin went on a journey to master his powers. This journey led him to fight multiple goons, monsters, a modified Gun Jack that could fire missiles and electrical bursts, a Heihachi Mishima clone that could eventually morphed into three clones, a ball of light that could spawn monsters, and True Ogre, who would turn into his much more powerful form Monstrous Ogre; this form was twice the size of True Ogre and could summon fire tornadoes.
-During his third tournament, Jin defeated the reawakened Jinpachi Mishima, who could launch fireballs and was controlled by a demon. He also fought off the influence of the Devil Gene throughout their battle, which went berserk when Jinpachi first resurfaced.
-Took over the Mishima Zaibatsu shortly after defeating Jinpachi.
-Started World War 3 to draw out the ultimate evil, Azazel, and sacrifice himself to kill the god in order to free the world of the Devil Gene. It half-worked; Azazel was indeed destroyed, but Jin survived, the Devil Gene still intact.

Physicality & Mentality

Physicality

Superhuman Strength
-Can match and even surpass the strength of Heihachi Mishima and Kazuya Mishima (Both of whom displayed the ability to tear through several Jack-4 robots like paper, able to pick up grizzly bears weighing close to 500 lbs. and hoist them up with one arm before chucking them away at least 15 ft., and easily overpower beings who can lift 80 tons).
-Far stronger than Paul Phoenix (who can punch through stone walls and huge boulders with a single punch), Bruce Irving (who can punch a speeding car over his head), Kuma & Panda (Bears close to the size of 500 lbs. and are stronger than both men), and every one of the Jack robots (machines that are far stronger than normal combatants).
-Able to launch the demon Azazel (who weighs a ton) several feet into the air.
Superhuman Speed & Reflexes
-Capable of driving a motorcycle directly into gunfire and missiles; he is unscathed and is able to dodge every single obstacle.
-Scales to Kazuya and Heihachi, the latter of which caught a 9mm bullet with his teeth no sweat.
-Overmatched Lars Alexanderson, who was even faster than Kazuya Mishima.
Superhuman Durability & Stamina
-In his first tournament win, Jin outlasted Heihachi Mishima, Ogre, and True Ogre in a rapid succession.
-Scales to Kazuya (Who fell down a cliff as a child and climbed back up thanks to the Devil Gene. He also was dropped into the mouth of a volcano and survived) and Heihachi (Who was dropped down the same cliff as Kazuya and climbed back up without the use of the Devil Gene since he doesn't have it. He was also blown up in an explosion that leveled a pagoda and crashed underneath a cemetery, where he was buried for several weeks).
-Able to fight in the arctic or a volcanic atmosphere without any signs of distress.
-Can headbutt a Jack-5 multiple times without the risk of a concussion.
-In the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, Jin was able to take down several Tekken Force members without tiring.
-Capable of fighting 3 Heihachis (All of which scaled to the original in physicality and mentality) at once.
-During the final battle with Azazel, Jin plunged himself and the deity at least thousands of feet into an abyss before continuing a fight for a short time.

Mentality

Cold & Pragmatic
-As the leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu, Jin is a calculating individual and oppurtunist.
-He has become a brilliant tactician and engineer.
-Pushes people away and prefers to be alone.
Sweet & Gentle
-However, according to his closest friends, the stoic demeanor is a facade. Jin is actually a gentle soul deep down.
-He pushes people away so he doesn't endanger them with the Devil Gene. He's also quite shy.
-Doesn't like deception or doing evil in any case, even if it's for the right thing.

Martial Arts

Kazama-ryu Kobujustu

-Jin's main fighting style which he adopted after shunning the Mishima bloodline.
-It is the Kazama traditional fighting style and focuses on a passive yet stern role in combat.
-The fighting style incorporates traditional Japanese arts such as Aikido, Karate, and Judo, but primarily focuses on Daito-ryu Aiki-Jiujitsu and Kyokushinkaikan.
-Jin's usage of the form is similar to his mother's except it is overall stronger and faster while staying unique to him.
-The way Jin uses his moveset allows him to be a masterful technician; he can be passive, aggressive, offensive, and defensive all at once. He is also quite mobile, implementing several quick steps (called Mist Steps in form) and quick parries.
-The style has a signature 5-hit combo called the Kazama Fury that implements all of its best strikes. Jin can lead into it with a splits kick, leading to the legendary Kazama 6-Hit Combo.
-It has two specific stances that allow Jin to fight in different positions. Mental Alertness gives Jin a better defensive position while Power Stance gives Jin a better offensive form.
-Jin has one 10-hit combo in this form. It starts off with an elbow before leading into a string of kicks, a series of spinning elbows, and then finished off with a quick succession of punches.

Mishima-ryu Kenka Karate

-Jin's original fighting style that he ultimately discarded once his grandfather Heihachi betrayed him.
-However, once Jin enters his Devil Form, his blood shall fall back on the ways of Mishima.
-Devil Jin's usage of the martial art incorporates Shito-ryu, a combination style that incorporates the diverse roots of karate. Shorin-ryu and Shotokan (styles that focus on long powerful stances and powerful strikes) blend with Uechi-ryu and Goju-ryu (styles that emphasize circular and eight-directional movements, breathing power, and hard and soft variations). Shito-ryu has 60 forms in its arsenal.
-While each Mishima uses a variant of the style, each moveset shares these twelve moves: Rising Uppercut (A quick step followed by a quick and powerful uppercut), Dragon Uppercut (A quick step into a leaping uppercut), Flash Punch Combo (A double jab led into a knockdown punch), Demon Slayer (A 1-2 into a spinning backhand), Demon Backhand Spin (Exactly what it sounds like), Right Splits Kick (Exactly what it sounds like), Left Splits Kick (Exactly what it sounds like), Tsunami Kick (A leaping spin kick that turns into a repetition of ground spin kicks), Spinning Demon (A powerful lightning uppercut that charges up from spins), Demon Scissors (A frontflip that brings the weight of both legs crashing on top of an opponent), Stonehead (A powerful headbutt), and Rising Sun (A quick step into a double spinning leg sweep)
-There are two 10-hit combos in this form. One is shared among all practitioners (This variant starts with a quick step before being followed up by a flurry of punches, a few kicks, and ended with a Dragon Uppercut) and another is unique to Devil Jin (This one starts with a spinning roundhouse followed up by a Tsunami Kick, a few punches, and ended with a Dragon Uppercut).
-Devil Jin focuses on a strong style that favors offense over defense.

Powers & Abilities

Devil Gene

-The supernatural genetic abnormality found within the Mishima bloodline that allows them to tap into an evil spirit's power.
-Manifested in Jin at age 15 by forming a tattoo on his shoulder.
-Capable of enhancing Jin's abilities at the risk of turning the user bloodlusted and insane.
-Jin's connection to the Devil Gene was powerful enough to tear through chains specifically designed to neutralize the powers of the Devil Gene and render a user unconscious in minutes.
-Depending on the user, the Gene can control or be controlled.
-The Gene gives Jin an intimidating presence and electrical abilities.
-Can form spiritual barriers around Jin that can protect Jin from multiple lasers from a Golden Azazel.
Mechanical Engineering

-When he was young, Jin attended the Mishima Polytechnic School to learn various subjects and majored in mechanical engineering.
-Likely played a large role in the creation of NANCY-MI847J, a giant machine with multiple tripod legs, rocket fists, lasers, fast-punching speeds, and several other functions.

-Helped create Alisa Bosconvitch, one of the most versatile machines in Tekken lore.

Ki Usage
-As a martial artist and one imbued with spiritual abilities, Jin has a variety of ki abilities.
-For example, his Devil Gene gives him access to a larger ki pool.
-Jin can amplify his attacks with ki.

Skills & Techniques

Supercharger
-An ability that allows Jin to extra damage with one of his strikes.
-The damage carries over if a combo is set in place.
-It will be telegraphed when Jin crouches and charges up electrical currents within his body, which causes his fists to glow.
Mental Alertness
-One of Jin's two martial stances.
-Gives Jin a better defense position with his low stance.
-Can absorb a hit before Jin would retaliate.
-Can lunge kick into the air, give a quick strike, give a lunge punch combo, and an electrified sweep kick.
Power Stance
-Jin's other martial stance.
-Charges up Jin's fists with electricity.
-Gives Jin better offensive capabilities for a short time.
-Can reverse an attack before Jin would capitalize on the opponent's exposed position.
-Able to stack up with a Supercharger, giving Jin double the power within his fists.
Penetrating Fist
-Jin condenses ki into his palm before thrusting it forward, which summons an orb of energy.
-Is mostly used as a defensive asset.
-Can throw two out at different locations.
Eighth Gate of Hell
-Jin charges up electricity in his body and readies his arm for a powerful thrust.
-If he connects with the punch, massive damage follows.
Median Line Destruction
-Jin unleashes a flurry of punches that can cripple an opponent if he or she gets caught within it.
-The punches are aimed at weak points such as the face, stomach, abdomen, and ribs.
-With the last punch, Jin sends the opponent flying.

Equipment

Fighting Gauntlets

-Jin's personal gauntlets.
-Are outfitted with metal stud patterns that are used for blocking and backhands.
-The crest of the Kazama or a triangular pattern lays atop the fist.

Red Footpads

-Footpads Jin wears.
-Protects his feet from damage.

Customized Motorcycle

-Jin's usual means of transportation.
-Likely inspired by his friendly rival Hwoarang's love for them.
-It is outfitted with jet boosters, an onboard HUD, a radar for nearby vehicles, and an alarm system that can track incoming missiles, gunfire, and officers of the law.
-Much faster than a normal motorcycle, likely having a maximum speed of 120 MPH.

Transformations

  • Devil Jin

-When Jin either loses himself or willingly uses the Devil Gene, he assumes a demonic form that enhances his physicality.
-Whether reached through instinct or will, Jin will sprout two black avain wings out of his back and tattoos will form on his body.
-If Jin is out-of-control, he will also form horns atop his head, sharp teth, a paler skin tone, beast-like eyes, gauntlets with spiked tips and fingers, studded boots, and chains will be summoned around his arms, legs, and waist.
-Jin gains the ability to fire a laser from the crystal on his forehead which can stun and electrocute opponents. If an opponent is caught in the air with the laser, Jin can juggle the opponent for a long period of time.
-Jin also gains access to telekinesis. While its limits are unknown, Jin can choke people and hold them in the air with minimal difficulty, blast a man across a room, and even blow up a motorcycle heading directly for him at top speed.
-Devil Jin can also create more powerful shockwaves that can ripple an area just from landing. When he first awakened in a forest, a few shockwaves was all it took to completely obliterate it.
-Can absorb the darkness within other beings (It was seen that other Devil Gene users can absorb the same essence, but there was also Jinpachi Mishima. Devil Jin was capable of taking the dark power within Jinpachi despite his energy not being of the Devil Gene).
-Has enhanced senses that can smell out opponents from miles away.
-Gains access to Soul Detection, allowing him to read the hearts of his opponents and track them down by their ki signatures.
  • Primal Devil Jin (Non-canon)

-When Jin uses the higher echelons of the Devil Gene, he transforms into a far more monstrous version of his Devil counterpart.
-The form grows larger clawed hands, sharper teeth, bigger horns, a tail, a larger muscle mass, and  scale-plate skin.
-Able to level several buildings with an amplified version of his standard laser. He can keep it firing for longer periods of time and bend its trajectory.
-This form of Jin is completely out of Jin's control.

  • Full-Power Devil Jin (Non-canon)

-When Jin finally gets his Devil Gene under his control, he can tap into the peak of his power.
-Jin's form becomes humanoid, gaining armored gauntlets, boots, and armored wings.
-Along with Jin's newfound control, his stats are increased dramatically once more, able to cover hundreds of yards in a moment with flight.
-He also has an even more powerful beam that can slice through a giant Mokujin golem.
-Fought off both Devil Kazuya and Heihachi while he was controlling a Mokujin golem taller than the pagodas he was near.

Weaknesses
-Jin is a primarily close-range fighter at base, lacking any true projectiles most fighting game protagonists have at their disposal.
-Jin's normal fighting style lacks a high scale of damage.
-Devil Jin's fighting style, while savage in strength and speed, sacrifices much of Jin's original defensive advantages.
-While Jin is capable of controlling the Devil Gene by his own will, too much dark energy can cause him to lose control of himself.
-Devil Jin is sadistic in nature and prefers to torment his opponents instead of going for the kill.
-Anyone who bears Kazama blood can calm or even depower Jin from his Devil form.
-His mixed blood is a major reason for when he loses control of himself. His Kazama and Mishima genes are constantly at war, which causes Jin to stay relatively distant and emotionless so he doesn't accidentally hurt anyone he cares about.

(Jin: Let me ask you, what have the governments, religions, and people of this world accomplished? Up until now, people have lived in fear of those with power, and were ruled by an iron fist. Who could possibly save such a twisted world? I wanted the two of us to clash.....and destroy each other. Then, I could finally be free of this accursed blood in my veins, and the world would be saved. But there would be only one chance.)

-Played a role in defeating several major KOF villains including Goenitz, Rugal, Mukai, Magaki, Yashiro, Shermie, Chris, and Orochi.
-Surpassed his father Saisyu at the age of 15.
-Started training at the age of 9 and survived on the streets when he ran away after being beat up by thugs.
-Escaped the NESTS compound after being sedated.
-Was cloned multiple times by the NESTS organization.
-Constantly fought on even grounds with rival Iori Yagami.
-When he teamed up with Chizuru Kagura and Iori Yagami, the team bested Mukai  and, more importantly, rescued Kyo's girlfriend Yuki from being sacrificed, which led to a marathon where the team defeated Yashiro Nanakase, Shermie, Chris, and even Orochi (Who had many crazy abilities, which includes the ability to read the minds of opponents while in combat, destroy souls, etc.).
-Was the one to deal the crippling blow to Orochi that caused him to be resealed by Chizuru.
-Is the guitarist to the Band of Fighters, a group comprised of various KOF alumni that has performed in various SNK shows.

Physicality & Mentality

Physicality

Superhuman Strength
-Capable of muscling out larger opponents with ease.
-Matched Iori Yagami pound for pound.
-Throws his weight around with the likes of Goro Daimon (A man who can rupture the ground beneath him with his fists and even toss around people over 500 lbs. with ease) on a daily basis.
-Traded blows with Orochi Iori and Orochi himself, both of whom can level buildings with their strikes easily.
Superhuman Speed & Reflexes
-Capable of keeping pace with Iori Yagami.
-Can keep up with the likes of Orochi.
-Outmatched Benimaru, who can use lightning.
-Can keep pace and even surpass the speed of Maxima, a giant of a man capable of thinking at twice the speed of a normal human.
-Matched Elisabeth Blanctorche, who implements Ictiokinesis (Light Manipulation). This cements his combat speed at relativistic.
Superhuman Durability & Stamina
-Sustained minor injuries in his first confrontation with Goenitz, who could summon tornadoes and gales of pressurized wind.
-Went toe-to-toe with Iori Yagami on several occasions.
-Gets hospitalized often, yet he is able to fight before his recovery is done.
-Was able to marathon against a team of three fighters infused with Orochi's power before facing Orochi himself. The feat is even more impressive considering Orochi could summon powerful beams and pillars of energy, a holy light capable of damaging anyone within a large proximity, and rip out a person's soul and destroy it (Which Kyo took at a point in the battle).

Mentality

Hot-blooded & Cocky
-Ever since he dropped out of high school, Kyo has maintained a fiery personality.
-Loves to fight and compete.
-Has a temper that gets him into trouble more often than not.
Undying Loyalty to Family & Friends
-Despite his impulsive attitude, Kyo cherishes those close to him.
-Will fight to the bitter end to ensure their safety.
-When the time calls for it, Kyo can shift his personality to be more friendly to others (Most prominent examples are when he is with his father, Saisyu, and his girlfriend, Yuki. When around his father, he becomes far more serious-minded and when around Yuki, he can be sweet and sensitive.)

Martial Arts

Kusanagi-ryu Kobujustu
-Translates to "Kusanagi Style of Ancient Martial Arts".
-Best described as a mix of Japanese Karate and Chinese Kung Fu.
-Implements kicks, shoulder tosses, and elbow strikes.
-Is enhanced by the Kusanagi lineage's usage of flame.
Kenpo
-A system of self-defense focused on pragmatism and stand-up martial arts.
-Split into three different styles: Shorinji, Okinawan, and Hawaiian.
-Kyo is most comfortable using Shorinji Kenpo, a modified style of Shaolin Kung Fu that focuses on self-defense, mental training, and health training.
-Okinawan Kenpo, or Shorin-ryu, is one of the oldest forms of karate. In combat, the user must concentrate on breathing, narrow and high stances, circular motions, stable strikes, and fluid and flexible movements.
-Hawaiian Kenpo mixes Okinawan, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, and multiple other forms of Martial Arts. It emphasizes
hard linear strikes and kicks, pressure point manipulation, circular movement patterns, and joint locking and breaking.

Powers & Abilities

Pyrokinesis
-The Kusanagi's legendary power.
-Kyo uses this in conjunction with his normal strikes to inflict further damage.
-Can send fire trails across the ground, summon fire pillars, set himself ablaze, or spread fire throughout the air.
-Flames are potent enough to keep Kyo fighting against a woman who can manipulate ice that can reach -200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Desperation
-Kyo's special mode where he uses his upper limits for a short time.
-With it, Kyo's stats are buffed dramatically.
-He can execute fast-paced combos with no breaks in between and can string almost anything together.
-Pyrokinesis is amplified, giving a larger range and damage to their effects.
-Afterwards, Kyo returns to his normal stats with no consequence.
-Needs a while to charge back up before it can be used again.
Motorcycle Driving
-One of Kyo's pastimes is driving a motorcycle.
-He's capable of riding any type, including a scooter.
Poetry
-One of Kyo's favorite hobbies.
-Is terrible at writing poems.
Ice Hockey Expertise
-Despite being a man of flames, Kyo enjoys ice hockey.
-This is perhaps due to the devil-may-care nature of hockey, which goes along with Kyo's personality nicely.
-Likely an above average player.
Accomplished Guitarist
-Kyo is a true master of the guitar.
-His skills are so exceptional, he is officially a part of the Band of Fighters (which also includes Terry Bogard, Athena Asamiya, Nakoruru, and Iori Yagami).
-Performed at Neo Geo World and KOF Year-End Party.

Equipment

Kusanagi Gloves

-Kyo's trademark gloves.
-Both are designed with the Kusanagi emblem.
-Both sport yellow lines on the palms and back of the hands to enhance striking power and blocking efficiency.

Motorcycle/Moped

File:Kyo-yuki.jpg
-As a big motorcycle enthusiast, Kyo naturally has a motorcycle on-hand.
-He also has a Scooter with him.
-They are normal versions of the vehicles, so they naturally have speeds around 130 MPH (Motorcycle) and 45 MPH (Moped).

California Classic Guitar

-Kyo's go-to guitar for when he is in the Band of Fighters.
-It is an electric guitar.

Skills & Techniques

  • Original Moveset (94'-96')

100-Shiki Oniyaki
-A spiraling leaping uppercut enhanced by Kyo's pyrokinesis.
-Works as a great anti-air move and barrier for some projectiles.
108-Shiki Yamibarai
-A traveling fire trail that explodes in an enemy's face.
-Depending on what Kyo wants to do, the trail can block an incoming projectile or sweep underneath it in order to nail the opponent.
101-Shiki Oboroguruma
-A lunging spin kick that leads to two other kicks.
-Good move for punishing projectile users, as Kyo arches over one and hits the opponent.
-The following combo kicks the opponent higher before smashing the person back to the ground.
212-Shiki Kototsuki You
-Kyo runs forward and grabs his opponent by the throat before blowing them up with his hand.
-Good for a rushdown tactic.
75-Shiki Kai
-A lunging upwards kick followed up by another upwards kick.
-Capable of letting Kyo quickly hop over incoming attacks.
Ura 108-Shiki Orochinagi
-Kyo charges up flames before releasing a blanket of fire that explodes in the opponent's face.
-Can be charged up for more damage and spread.
-Able to shield Kyo from more powerful attacks.
-When fully-charged, Kyo's entire body is set ablaze.
Ura 121-Shiki Ama-No-Murakumo
-Kyo's ultimate technique in this style.
-Kyo sends a small blaze across the arena that acts as a beacon for a large row of flame pillars to follow.

  • New Moveset (97'-Onwards)

 R.E.D. Kick
-Kyo jumps into the air and lands a guillotine of a kick onto an opponent.
-The way Kyo angles his kick allows for further damage to the skull, since he drives the tip of his foot like a spike.
Aragami-Konokizu-Yanosabi
-A three-hit combo enhanced by Kyo's flames.
-The combo starts with a flaming hook that leads into an uppercut that can launch the opponent unless Kyo decides to bring the enemy back down with his elbow.
Aragami-Konokizu-Nanase
-Another of Kyo's three-hit combos.
-Starts off the same as above, except the combo ends with a lunging flame kick.
Aragami-Yanosabi-Migari Ugachi
-Another of Kyo's three-hit combos.
-Starts with a hook followed up with an elbow to the floor and ended by a flaming ground pound.
Aragami-Yanosabi-Nanase
-Another of Kyo's three-hit combos.
-Starts off the same as above, except ended by a lunging flame kick.
Dokukami-Tumiyomi-Batsuyomi-Oniyaki
-Another of Kyo's three-hit combos.
-The combo starts with a powerful hook followed by an equally damaging backhand fist and ended by a 100-Shiki Oniyaki.
182 Shiki
-Kyo charges up energy into his fist before lunging forward and unleashing an explosive punch to an enemy.
-The blow doesn't need to connect to work, as Kyo can launch the energy early and catch an opponent off-guard.
Saishu Kessen Ougi: MU-Shiki
-Kyo quickly powers up and summons a large pillar of fire before unleashing a quick combo that sets the enemy on fire.
-Capable of plowing through several attacks while shielding Kyo from damage.
Saishu Kessen Ougi: Totsuka
-The new ultimate technique.
-Kyo shows a small spark in his hand before essentially covering the area in a blanket of fire.
-Afterwards, the opponent will be wrapped in a large barrier of fire.

Weaknesses
-Kyo despises using effort and tends to hold back during a lot of his matches.
-Also, due to his lack of effort, Kyo does not train, so his skills are not as crisp as they should be.
-He loses interest in many things easily unless it pertains to fighting, his family, or poetry.
-Is generally naive and maintains a hot-blooded personality that gets him into trouble.
-Kyo cannot control fires he did not create.
-Despite being a competent singles fighter, he is usually around a team setting.
-Kyo's fighting style consists of a strong offense, but lacks a strong defense to compensate.
-Sucks at poetry, despite it being one of his hobbies.

Yeah, yeah, I know a lot of you are probably going to killhaul for this, but I'm switching up matches once again. I've been stuck in a creative slump on top of some personal problems, those seemed to have gone away. So, I've decided my next DB will go back to my roots and up the ante at the same time.

How you may ask?

"The answer lies....in the heat of battle."

A fighter is many things. In some regards, the fighter is persistent, never giving way to adversity. He seeks battle as a way to broaden his horizons and better himself.

"You just ain't got it. Stop whining and get lost."

A fighter can also be prone to pride, confident in his abilities to a war-like degree. He is born with a talent and passion for battle, but he lacks discipline to advance.

"Pointless."

A fighter may even lose sight of his passion, using the skills he has acquired for other purposes beyond bouts. He has moved onto greater scales, all for the sake of self-realization.

"A defeat learned from is more important than an empty victory."

"You lack devotion. Steady effort is what counts. Me? I'm an exception to the rule!"

"Pointless."

Ask yourself. What does it mean to fight? When you feel you have found the answer, seek me out.

Ryu Hoshi vs. Jin Kazama vs. Kyo Kusanagi......

*Major props to :icongrinderkiller1: for the epic poster! It's friggin fantastic!
<da:thumb id="611645116"/>
"Mother!
