Kenshiro vs. Jotaro Kujo Alt. 2 by GokuvsSuperman117

GokuvsSuperman117: Manliness is expressed through many different ways, but these two have the most noticeable ways of expressing it. One shows it by being the pinnacle of a good man, constantly walking through hell on Earth to help as many people as he can. The other shows the odder sides of it by being flamboyant and somewhat of a jerk, but ultimately standing against evil without question.

Kenshiro, the Man with the Seven Scars and the 64th Successor to Hokuto Shinken.

Jotaro Kujo, owner of the Stand Star Platinum: The World and the 3rd Jojo.

As many differences as one can draw between the two, the similarities are even more glaringly staggering. I'm here to see who would come out on top, and see who would win in a Death Battle!

Kenshiro

First Appearance: "Weekly Shōnen Jump Issue #41" (1983) or "Hokuto No Ken Volume 1"

Weight: 100 kg. (220 lbs.)

Feats:
-Has defeated countless enemies in battle just by using his fists.

-Can remember and copy any martial art he sees.
-Is capable of walking through a falling building and breaking it in half, destroying a tank with ease, walking through lava, etc.
-Can stop 500 kg (1102 lbs.) of force with just his two index fingers, middle fingers, and thumbs.
-Fought and won against the likes of countless users of Nanto Seiken, even defeating Souther.
-Defeated other Hokuto users like Jagi, Toki, Raoh, Han, Hyoh, and Kaioh.

GVS117: In the year 199X, the world became ravaged by nuclear war. During the buildup to Judgement Day, many martial arts were practiced, but one school was proclaimed as the strongest martial art of all time: Hokuto Shinken. The 63rd master, Ryuken, raised and trained four boys, all having the potential of succeeding him. They were composed of the Eldest son Raoh, the second Eldest Toki, the second Youngest Jagi, and the youngest and eventual successor, Kenshiro.

*Montage of Kenshiro slaughtering random thugs plays*

?????: They all deserved it.

GVS117: What in-Who are-....Oh.

Kenshiro: Hello there.

GVS117: (What is one of the contestants doing here? How is this even possible? It's my first time doing this, and I already have enough pressure already with my inexperience and...) Hi Kenshiro. Um...how are you here and what are you doing here?

Kenshiro: These Death Battles are merely speculations, so even if I do lose here, I won't really die. But anyways, I've come to help you.

GVS117: Really? You aren't here to kill me or any-...wait... *Thinks real hard* You really want to do this?

Kenshiro: Sure. I'm not one for explaining vast details, but I'll help you on this due to your lack of friends and inability to express things. And who else would be a better co-host for you than one who could calm you and give you the correct information?

GVS117: Huh. First that was rather blunt, and second, maybe Buronson himself or Hirohiko Araki if we're talking about Jotaro.

Kenshiro: Fair points, but you still need help.

GVS117: Fair enough. Anyways, Kenshiro here was chosen as the 64th successor by Ryuken.

Kenshiro: After he chose Toki, who had to renounce his title when he saved me, Yuria, an old woman, and a large number of children from the nuclear fallout by closing the doors to the bunker we were in. A sad turn of events, I feel he would have been stronger than I currently am if he hadn't caught his terminal illness...

GVS117: I can't see that happening. You seem impossible to defeat in combat right now. Weren't you ever as strong as him in your training days?

Kenshiro: No.

GVS117: *Realizes what he's saying* Oh, nevermind. Anyways, after the nukes stopped dropping, yes, Ken took Toki's mantle as successor. His coronation was met with mixed signals to say the least. Raoh didn't seem to care-

Kenshiro: He honestly did and even gave words of preparation for my destiny.

GVS117: -Jagi hated it and tried to kill Kenshiro, but failed miserably, resulting in a disfigured face and an eternal grudge-

Kenshiro: He was rather overemotional about things, and to be fair, he was coming in from a very depression-filled state after learning about the death of Anna, even if his actions were monstrous to say the least.

GVS117: -Toki congratulated him, and Yuria became his fiance. He then traveled with Yuria to help the land as best as they could. However, they were stopped
sometime later by an old rival of Ken's: Shin, the successor to Nanto Koshu Ken. He was tricked by Jagi to believe it was right to commit atrocities due to the now hellish and bleak landscape. He then gave Ken a sound beating, stole Yuria as his own, and stabbed the iconic shape of the big dipper into his chest. How exactly can one do THAT, let alone accomplish what you've done Ken?

Kenshiro: It takes a lot of training for the mind, body, and soul, but I can assure you the techniques found in Nanto Seiken are almost on par with those found in Hokuto Shinken.

GVS117: That wasn't the answer I was looking for, but whatever. Kenshiro miraculously survived the encounter and roamed the wasteland for awhile. His spirit crushed and morals thrown into question, he was a wreck. No offense.

Kenshiro: None taken, all things considered.

GVS117: He recuperated when a wandering family met him a year later, who in turn were captured by slavers from a place known as Gesso City. This sprung his legend into motion, as he fought for their freedom, and was ultimately given the city by another Nanto Koshu Ken practitioner named Jugai. It was quite a happy moment, until the corrupt ruler decided to take the city with him by blowing it up. Not the best memory to bring up is it?

Kenshiro: Not really...

GVS117: He then stumbled around some more and was captured by a village. This village contained him a reminder of hope in the form of a little girl named Lin. You really have a good heart you know tha-

Kenshiro: You're kind of dragging this out longer than it needs to.

Damien: I'll get on with it then. *Skips forward to Zeed getting slaughtered* Here are some facts.

Physicality & Mentality
-Superhuman Fighter
Can fight legions of giants, trained warriors, barbarians, etc. without getting so much as a scratch.
Is able to quickly adapt to fighting styles.
Was able to keep up with Han's movements, which couldn't be seen by others.
Stopped Hyoh's fist, which could land 1,107 hits in a second.
-Superhuman Strength
Walked through a falling building after punching it and two others down with a single strike (non-canon, but clearly possible for him).
Has chucked a building sized boulder into a hole in a dam.
Is able to kick above peak condition thugs into space.
-Superhuman Speed & Reflexes
Early on could land 50 punches in 3 seconds.
Average punching speed is 708 strikes in a second.

Can move 100m in 9 seconds with mere steps.
-Superhuman Senses
Can detect and resist poisons, toxins, and other hazards with his body.
Can spot the aura of a being in pitch-black darkness.
Has a sense of smell that is as good as a hound's.
Eyesight is keen enough to catch an arrow the moment it's shot.
-Superhuman Durability
Survived multiple projectile wounds.
The building walk.
Can survive getting splashed and covered by lava.
Was able to resist and adapt to a gas that should have completely paralyzed him.
Shrugged off a tank shot.

-Adaptability
The whole "learning abilities just by watching them in action" thing.

Figured out Souther's unique reversed heart and adjusted accordingly.
Used a hair strand to hit the pressure point that took away Kaioh's "breathless combat".
Drew out Raoh's toki and utilized Muso Tensei to hit him at the last second in order to claim victory.

GVS117: Yeah, you're kind of broken.

Kenshiro: I'm what?

GVS117: Broken is another term for overpowered in my time. You are essentially the fusion of Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, Mad Max, and Sylvester Stallone.

Kenshiro: What an original comparison...

GVS117: Surprised you would know who those are. Anyways, he has all the traits of a physical Superman, but he also has the skills to back him up. Mind taking this one Ken?

Kenshiro: Sure.

GVS117: Oh wait, one question before you explain.

Kenshiro: What is it?

GVS117: While you've never explicitly used some of these martial arts, it's highly implied that you can. Is this speculation true?

Kenshiro: Yes, this fact is true due to the Suieishin technique, which allows me to perfectly replicate moves I've seen.

GVS117: Okay, good, otherwise I would be beating a dead horse for no good reason.

Kenshiro: Not really relevant.

Martial Arts

Gento Ko Ken

Kenshiro: A martial art that existed to protect the Holy Emperor or Empress. Its star is the Celestial Emperor Star. I learned its techniques from its successor; my friend Falco. It relies on projecting ki in various manners, like forming a shield or creating a blast or wave of energy that destroys an opponent's body on a cellular level.

GVS117: Geez, it sounds like you could destroy anything with that form of fighting. And you've defeated a user, no, the successor while restraining yourself? How did you do that?

Kenshiro: We were both holding back.

GVS117: That still doesn't exlpain any-.... You know what, I'll stop questioning things.

Kenshiro: A good trait.

Taizan Tenro Ken

Kenshiro: A terrifying art formed after the principles of the lonely Celestial Wolf Star. This style has its user chop the flesh of an opponent, slicing the nerves so fast that a cold sensation is felt before death.

GVS117: Definitely not a way any person would want to die.

Nanto Seiken

Kenshiro: There are many forms of the South Star Dipper. Like the forms of the North Star Dipper, they push a body of a fighter to its full potential.

GVS117: I want to call bull and ask Captain America what he thinks, but I feel it's unnecessary. It also helps with pushing past those limits, right?

Kenshiro: Yes. However, unlike Hokuto, Nanto uses outwardly killings of its targets, more specifically bludgeoning, stabbing, and slashing movements. It even encourages the use of weaponry-

GVS117: And the help of telepathy like with that Colonel?

Kenshiro: No, he wasn't a psychic. Where do people get that idea?

GVS117: Translation errors.

Kenshiro: Back on topic, Nanto Seiken has 108 sects in its school, but six stand out. The Nanto Rokusei Ken, which translates to "Six Sacred Fists of Nanto", is composed of Nanto Koshu Ken (South Dipper Lone Eagle Fist), Nanto Suicho Ken (South Dipper Waterbird Fist or South Dipper Waterfowl Fist), Nanto Kokaku Ken (South Dipper Flamingo Fist), Nanto Hakuro Ken (South Dipper Little Egret Fist), Nanto Ho-oh Ken (South Dipper Feng Huang Phoenix Fist), and Nanto Saigo no Sho (Last Nanto General).

GVS117: Each style corresponds with a star of the Nanto Roku Sei. Nanto Koshu Ken belongs to the Star of Martyrdom, Nanto Suicho Ken belongs to the Star of Justice, Nanto Kokaku Ken belongs to the Star of Enchantment, Nanto Hakuro Ken belongs to the Star of Benevolence, Nanto Ho-oh Ken belongs to the Star of Supremacy, and Nanto Saigo no Sho belongs to the Merciful Mother Star. As you can tell, that last style wasn't meant for combat, so we won't cover it. Nanto Koshu Ken relies on rapid hand stabs, and also contains aerial kicks that apparently can slash foes, at will no less. How exactly did Shin delay his slashing effect on you, but can do it instantaneously on a group of random goons?

Kenshiro: I'm still not entirely sure how it works either.

GVs117: Well, I'll just continue. Nanto Suicho Ken uses swift and graceful movements similar to a waterbird, but its destructive slashes are unrivaled. The form is capable of slicing through dozens of men with a single swipe.

Kenshiro: Nanto Kokaku Ken is similar to Nanto Suicho Ken, but instead of diagonal and horizontal slashes, it relies on vertical slashes that covers long-range distances.  Nanto Hakuro Ken is a versatile style that focuses on swift kick techniques, but it is also adept in destroying mass amounts of enemies with open hand attacks.

GVS117: Last, but definitely not least, Nanto Ho-oh Ken is a completely offensive style, encompassing incredible speed and strength and containing no stances, save for a Phoenix pose that signifies its user's superiority over all others. It also has Isshi Shoden as a principle, or the belief that only one can become the successor, similar to Hokuto Shinken. Only difference is that the student must kill the master in order to obtain the title of successor. It's a sad road to follow...

Kenshiro: Speaking of Hokuto, it's time to cover the two rivaling schools of Hokuto Soke.

Hokuto Ryuken

GVS117: Hokuto Ryuken (Big Dipper Lapis Lazuli Fist) makes use of the 1,109 pressure points of Keiraku Hako (Destructive Meridian Points), and is a far more destructive art than its counterpart. It's so dangerous, that its mere aura constantly endangers the sanity and soul of its user. Needless to say, it's quite the double-edged sword.

Kenshiro: Not to mention, when any of the Keiraku Hako are pressed, a special effect comes into play. Certain examples are the protection of one's mind against memory erasing techniques, the ability to make a person to fall in love with the first person they see, and somehow giving a user "breathless combat". All of the effects can be guarded against, or even reversed, but again, certain points need to be hit. For example, to remove the "breathless combat", a pressure point so small that it only has a needle-sized opening needs to be struck.

GVS117: Well, good luck doing that when you have a giant 8-foot armor-clad tan demon attacking you when you're not Kenshiro.

Kenshiro: Hokuto Ryuken has also displayed diverse uses of ki (energy) and toki (aura). While there are attacks that used its energy in pressure point effect enhancements and some other unconventional methods, major attacks are ki blast-

GVS117: Like Dragon Ball Z? I'm totally gonna call you Goku from now on...

Kenshiro: -Ahem, ki blasts that vary on effectiveness. Notable ones I've seen are the Hakura Messei from Han and the Anryu Shugeki Ha. This attack uses the full force of a user's Matoki (Majin toki), and focuses it all into a swirling energy vortex.

GVS117: Pretty underwhelming considering A) we never saw its full potential due to B) you countering in one fell swoop. Another technique, one that is considered the most powerful in Hokuto Ryuken's line-up, is the Anryu Tenha, which levitates a person into the air and disorientates them. It was strong enough to put Kenshiro into a state of false death and negate Ken's most powerful state, once. Again underwhelming, but enough with Ryuken, everyone knows what's next...

Hokuto Shinken

GVS117: Yep, we saved the best for last. Hokuto Shinken (Big Dipper God Fist) really doesn't need an introduction, but we have to explain anyways. Take it away Ken!

Kenshiro: Hokuto Shinken is invincible. It's a 1800 year legacy, and no one has ever defeated it.

GVS117: Save the one-liners for the battle.

Kenshiro: It was created when the founder Shuken fused the branches of Hokuto Soke No Ken and Seito Gek Ken together. As stated before, it pushes one to their full potential and beyond. It shares traits with Hokuto Ryuken and even has certain techniques that mirror those of Hokuto Ryuken.

GVS117: For starters, there are some suspicious similarities like both having a technique that catches and redirects incredibly fast projectiles, to more subtle ones, like the destructive uses of one's toki. However, Hokuto Shinken does have a variety of more unique traits, like the ability to just flex and destroy clothing.

Kenshiro: Yes, as this process requires the involvement of a certain pressure point to be pushed. This process is called Tenryu Kokyo Ho.

GVS117: Really, it takes that much?

Kenshiro: Yes, as this pressure point can only be found in the 708 points of Keiraku Hiko (Meridian Channel Hidden Points). Other unique pressure point effects are the loss of control of one's body, move parts of an opponents body according to the user's desires, take or awaken one's senses, the ability to make other's tell the truth or lose memory, heal, and give a user immense strength for a short amount of time.

GVS117: Well, another unique trait is the fact there are more distinct forms of Hokuto Shinken. Ken uses the most basic form of Hokuto Shinken, but he also learned other forms from fighting his elder brothers Toki and Raoh. None from Jagi, because he couldn't really fight.

Kenshiro: Toki used a variation known as Ju No Ken (Fist of Gentleness), which uses more "humane" ways of killing.

GVS117: If by humane, you mean giving his victims a creepy way of getting off, then there you have it.

Kenshiro: It merely gives victims a more pleasurable experience by intense relaxing of the muscular system, instead of the usual unbearable pain associated with the normal form of Hokuto Shinken.

GVS117: Right, hope I never get hit with any of its techniques...

Kenshiro: You mean like this? *Taps GVS117 in the arm*

GVS117: AHHHHHHH!!!!!! Why would you do that? Now I'm gonna explode into a mill-*feeling kicks in*-Ohhhhh!!!!!! Wha-...This is strangely soothing, like a massage...

Kenshiro: Your welcome. And just so you know, I didn't hit anything vital.

GVS117: Thanks, but next time please let me allow you do something to me. Now where were we?

Kenshiro: Explaining Hokuto Shinken, or more directly, Ju No Ken.

GVS117: Ah, right. As you just saw, it gives a pleasing feeling instead of a painful one. Toki was able to use this form to a high degree, even with his illness plaguing him.

Kenshiro: Really?

GVS117: Give me a break, I couldn't think of a good describing word. Lets just get on with it. Toki also invented moves of his own, like the Ujo Hagan Ken, which allowed him to hit pressure points by emitting his to-...err...aura into his forearms, and firing beams into the Kensei pressure point. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

Kenshiro: Toki also conceived other skills, like the Ujo Danjin Ken, in which he used air slashs to hit multiple targets. There's also the Ujo Ken, which pokes the forehead of an opponent, giving a moment for its target to be lured into a false sense of security due to the lack of any feeling. A few seconds later, the target then explodes. Muso Ryubi displays Toki's Tai Chi like movements, and Gekiryu o Sei Suru wa Seisui uses these movements by redirecting an opponent's strength against them.

GVS117: There are a slew ton of other techniques, but they won't be covered for 2 reasons: 1) Toki has never used them in canon sources, as they were exclusive the Hokuto Musou video games. 2) Even if they were, they were never observed nor practiced by Ken, so they are entirely pointless. Shame, it would've given Ken some impressive particle effect maelstroms...

Kenshiro: Putting that aside, I do have one original move under Ju No Ken, the Ujo Mosho Ha. This technique unleashes a rapid series of punches, ending with a punch to the heart. The victim then feels no pain as death closes in upon them. An alternate way to use this attack is for me to strike opponents with a series of roundhouse kicks.

GVS117: The next form of Hokuto Shinken was created by the other elder brother, Raoh. Its name is Go No Ken (Fist of Strength) and obviously, it majors in strength.

Kenshiro: This form also has many unique techniques, but ones I would use that are from Raoh's set are the Tensho Honretsu, the Muso Insatsu, the Shinten Rai, and the Gosho Ha. Moves from Toki's use of Go No Ken that I would use are the Saiha Ken and the Tokei Koho.

GVS117: I'll explain every one of them. The Tensho Honretsu is Raoh's ultimate attack, as he fires a massive wave of Toki in a hand charge. The Muso Insatsu is an instinctive counterattack, able to activate in a subconscious state. The Shinten Rai creates a destructive dome barrier of energy around a user and blows away anything else. The Gosho Ha concentrates Toki into a palm, and attacks outside of a user's physical range with an energy wave. The Saiha Ken is an intense uppercut that is able to burn flesh, and the Tokei Koho is a secret breathing technique that enhances the strength by building it up through inhaling, then releasing it by exhaling. You all know what's ne-

*Random goon jumps out from the sky, dagger in hand*

Goon: Die retard!!!!!!!

Kenshiro: LOOK OUT! *punches random goon in the face* Demon, I don't want to see your face in hell!

GVS117: (Oh, here it comes!)

Kenshiro: ATATATATATATATATATATA-WATAH!!!!!

*Goon flies into the sky*

Goon: ABESHI!!!! HIDEBU-*explodes*

GVS117: OH YEAH!!! THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

Kenshiro: Are you okay?

GVS117: Of course... Just a little... you know... excited... and quite frankly overwhelmed...

Kenshiro: We should get back on topic.

GVS117: Right. Erm...

Kenshiro: Actually, just take a breather. I'll get to the main style I use.

GVS117: You have every right to...

Kenshiro: The main Hokuto Shinken style has a mountain of techniques and skills at its disposal. As such, I'll only talk about a select few that will likely be the most helpful. The Hiei Ken is an aerial kick that I used to counter Shin's Gokuto Ken, but it was quickly eclipsed by the Koku Zan, as it was actually able to counter aerial techniques more effectively and leave another adversary I fought paralyzed. The Gokin Bundan Kyaku weakens one's muscles, the Zankai Ken strikes pressure points in the neck that blow up the victim in 3 seconds, the Seiei Ko strikes the Ryugan pressure point and makes its target feel as if their body was made of bare nerves, the Sokin Jizai Kyaku is two kicks that strike pressure points in the neck that render a body motionless, the Dan Kotsukin causes a body to self-destruct, the Kyomu Shidan erases memory, the Shichishi Seiten attacks vital points in the formation of the Big Dipper, and the Ganzan Ryozan Ha is a knife-hand chop. Physical attacks obviously aren't all there is, ki attacks are also prominent in Hokuto Shinken. The Hakkei No Ho stops projectiles mid-flight by dispelling them with toki and the Tenha Kassastsu is a fingertip concentrated toki blast that is able to blast opponents and structures behind them. Two stances are in Hokuto Shinken as well, the Tenki Sho and the Tenha No Kamae. The Tenki Sho symbolizes an honorable match and the Tenha No Kamae is a stance so powerful and secretive that the heavens themselves are thrown into disarray when it is used.

GVS117: Damn.

Kenshiro: Indeed.

GVS117: Well, in spite of these moves sounding like overkill, 3 techniques shout "I AM OVERKILL" more than any others in Ken's arsenal. First up, the Tenkai Senretsu Sho. This move has Ken shooting waves of toki at his enemies, before finishing off with an explosive blast. The next one virtually needs no introduction, as it's synonymous with Ken, and it was literally introduced awhile ago. This technique is, of course, the Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken.

Kenshiro: It really is my most iconic move, allowing me to land 100 hits in 6 seconds and causing my opponent to explode. It also has a variation called the Rekka Gyakuryu Ken which closes the throat.

GVS117: However, the deadliest part of this move is when you truly piss Kenshiro off. He can crank up the dials to 10 and call upon the powers of the Hokuto Senjukai Ken. What does this do you ask, well if the implication I told you means anything, it's the Hokuto Hyakurestsu Ken times 10. That's right, instead of getting hit 100 times, you get destroyed by a 1000 hits! And each one is toki enhanced! The best (or worst depending how you look at it) part is that it's instantaneous, and you only get 7 seconds to live. What could possibly beat THAT out? Well, this isn't the ultimate technique, we left the best for last. Its name: Muso Tensei.

Kenshiro: The ultimate art of Hokuto Shinken, it can only be mastered by those who inherit true sadness within their soul. Speaking of souls, it allows a user to coordinate and become one with the souls of dead allies, rivals, and adversaries.

GVS117: Like every other ultimate technique in every important martial art ever, the user is put into a state of "nothingness" and makes him impervious to attacks. However, two facts separate it from the rest. First, it turns Kenshiro completely intangible, and second, it deatomizes whatever it touches. WHY. IS. IT. UNDER-APPRECIATED?

Kenshiro: Kaioh.

GVS117: Even if he negated it once, that was only due to the disruption of toki flow, and you still evolved past that!

Kenshiro: I got nothing.

GVS117: You even get something that protects you when you're in a state of false death, unconsciousness, and can even help you fight in battle that resembles Raoh! What am I missing?

Kenshiro: Just get on with the analysis.

GVS117: Listen, my brain hurts, so I'm just gonna recap, list, and summarize everything here:

Martial Arts
Gento Ko Ken
-Projects ki in various offensive and defensive manners, able to affect on a cellular level.

Taizan Tenro Ken
-Slashes nerves, leaving a cold feeling before death.

Nanto Seiken
  • Nanto Koshu Ken
-Relies on fluid hand stabs and aerial kicks.
  • Nanto Suicho Ken
-Relies on slashes so destructive and graceful, they are unrivaled.
  • Nanto Kokaku Ken
-Relies on distance-covering vertical slashes.
  • Nanto Hakuro Ken
-Relies on crowd-clearing swift kicks and open hand attacks.
  • Nanto Ho-oh Ken
-Relies on offense, 'nuff said.

Hokuto Ryuken
-Uses demonic auras, toki, and the 1,109 pressure points of Keiraku Hako.

Hokuto Shinken
  • Ju No Ken
-Uses painless pressure point killing techniques
  • Go No Ken
-Uses strength and intense toki blasts.
  • Basic Form
- Uses 100% of potential, uses the 708 pressure points of Keiraku Hiko, and Muso Tensei.

GVS117: And there we go, all the essentials. Oh, he also hides a pair of nunchaku in his clothing, but rarely uses it. He also seems to be a master of other weaponry as well, but again, not really used.

Kenshiro: What's next?

GVS117: Well, a category that's the most difficult to cover, and that's saying something.

Weaknesses

GVS117: Where do I begin? No, really, where do I freaking begin? Do you even have any noticeable weaknesses?

Kenshiro: It's actually a lot easier to call than you think. Start with comparing me to, what was his name?

GVS117: Oh right. Despite Kenshiro being ultimate Kung Fu man, it might not help with his opponent. Ken may have fought many odd and destructive beings, but they pale in comparison. Jotaro does not use a form of conventional fighting, using a method outright bizarre. He utilizes a being known as a Stand, which by definition is an "inner manifestation of a person's psyche and fighting spirit" and has a very clear set of rules. One of those being that only a Stand can attack another Stand, so all of Ken's skills would not be able to hit it.

Kenshiro: What a bizarre opponent indeed.

GVS117: Also, while Ken is no slouch when it comes to outsmarting his opponents, he doesn't even come close to Jotaro's craftiness in battle.

Kenshiro: Really? How smart is he?

GVS117: Still, with all the faults listed, he does not have any easily exploitable weaknesses. He also seems to have a Stand, which could potentially help against Star Platinum: The World.

Kenshiro: Now I know how you feel...

Advantages & Disadvantages
+No easily exploitable weaknesses.
+Jotaro himself is not immune to any of Kenshiro's attacks
+Has access to long range attacks.
+Is the better fighter of the two.
+/-Muso Tensei could provide a means to attack Star Platinum: The World.
+/-May or may not become aware of the time stop.
-Could be taken off guard extremely due to the nature of his opponent.

-Martial arts are useless against a Stand.
-Is not as crafty as Jotaro.
-Has inferior reflexes and mobility.
-If Jotaro keeps his distance, he could pull out on top.

GVS117: While Kenshiro would be unprepared for such an encounter, his dealings with every other kind would tell you he's more than up to the task. He has survived battles with many rivals, considering some to be his friends. He has persevered past countless tragedies, ultimately living up to his title as a savior and bringing peace to a war-torn savage land, twice. He also sees love as the greatest weapon and can identify sadness. He won't seek killing as an immediate answer, but won't shy away from it should the need arise. No matter how you look at him, one thing can't be denied. He is the pinnacle of manliness.

(Kenshiro: My friends made me into who I am today. My friends' hearts. My friends' love. My friends' fists are my fists... However, I will continue to fight...as long as I have my friends.)

-Survived stab wounds, a sword to the gut, punches from Za Warudo, an exploding steamroller while caught in a time stop, and a coma when his Stand disk was taken.
-Smashed a Stand's full set of teeth, which were as strong as diamonds.
-Outsmarted the D'arby brothers, both of which were highly skilled gamblers.

-Killed Dio Brando and Yoshikage Kira, owners of Za Warudo and Killer Queen respectively (both are among the most powerful Stands).

GVS117: Jotaro Kujo is the 3rd Jojo.

Kenshiro: What?

GVS117: Important members of the Joestar bloodline.

Kenshiro: That doesn't explain anything.

GVS117: Fine, you want a Captain Obvious answer? Every Jojo combines the "Jo" parts of their first and last names together. In case you still don't get it, Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, and Jotaro Kujo. Want any other examples?

Kenshiro: I was just kidding...

GVS117: You brought that one on yourself. Anyways, Jotaro grew up only with his mother Holly after his father left them to pursue a jazz career.

Kenshiro: Wow, that's pretty low.

GVS117: But, it was probably for the better. Jotaro was a well-mannered child who excelled at everything he did. He played catch with his mother, won foot races, and was insanely smart. Everything changed, however, when he reached High School.

Kenshiro: How so?

GVS117: He got into fights, bullied teachers, and never paid for food.

Kenshiro: WHAT?

GVS117: He also entranced every woman who looked at him.

Kenshiro: How the hell do you consider this guy manly? He seems like every 12-year old man-child who got lucky in life.

?????: Don't judge someone you don't know like that...

Kenshiro: YOU!

Jotaro: Yeah, me.

GVS117: (oh great, now he's here. This is going to be fun...) Oh well, speak of the devil. Hello Jota-

Jotaro: Beat it kid. This is between me and him.

Kenshiro: So, you couldn't wait until the fight, huh? Well, I'm ready for you, so let's settle this, right here, right now-

Jotaro: Are you daft, punk? We can't fight yet.

Kenshiro: Hm? Why not?

Jotaro: You've had everything you've got exposed. It wouldn't be a fair fight if we didn't know what I was capable of.

Kenshiro: You're willing to fight me on even terms? Go on...

Jotaro: I'll explain what I can do, then we can duke it out.

GVS117: That's right. But you know-

Jotaro: I thought I told you to leave.

GVS117: This is MY show, so fat chance. That also means I've got to host this thing.

Jotaro: Whatever, just don't bore us or get anything wrong. Otherwise I'll beat your face in.

GVS117: You know what, screw the backstory, we gonna dive straight into the facts. We'll see what you've got. You're already dead otherwi- *gets hit in the face*

Jotaro: No, I'm not.

GVS117: OW! That hurt, dammit!

Jotaro: I said I'll explain everything. Don't try that again or else...

GVS117: Yes, sir!

Jotaro: Now where were we? Ah, yes, the start. I, Jotaro Kujo, was always described as a punk and a delinquent. I overdid it when I got into fights, to the point where some I've fought are still in the hospital to this day. There was a teacher at the High School I attended when I was younger that was all talk, so I taught him a lesson, and he never showed his face again, even after I left. At restaurants that served me lousy food, I never paid the bill and left outright. But, even back then, even I knew how nauseating evil is. It was the manipulation of the weak, and crushing them under your foot! Especially women and children! That was all the motivation I needed to fight, to stand against Stands. Their kind is invisible to the law and to their victims, therefore, I was to be the judge!

Kenshiro: The harsh and uncaring attitude was just a farce. You truly care for others, but hate showing it. I take back what I said about you. I'm impressed.

Jotaro: Thank you. Now onto to the important bit. After one of my fights, I noticed a being protecting me, next to me, watching my every move. I originally thought it was an evil spirit cursing me.

GVS117: Yeah, cause apparently protection screams evil spirit.

Jotaro: It was a careful speculation, as I didn't know its true nature yet. I then put myself into jail to shield others from me.

Kenshiro: The logical, and right, choice.

Jotaro: It had strange powers, something I showcased when my mother came to get me out. To be frank, the spirit reached out and grabbed an officer's revolver, which was chained to his leg, and gave it to me. I then tried to shoot myself.

GVS117: The usually insane, and wrong, choice.

Jotaro: Instead of the obvious outcome, the bullet was caught as soon as it left the barrel. It was then that my Grandfather, Joseph, and his friend from Egypt, Muhammad Avdol, came to me. They taught me what was with me, calling it a "Stand".

Kenshiro: Well that's stupid, that's just another way of saying Pers-

GVS117: I don't think you should use that name around him...

Jotaro: Why not? I know what a Persona is.

GVS117: Trust me, I know something that you shouldn't.

Jotaro: That's just vague.

GVS117: What isn't is the very clear set of rules that govern all Stands and their users:

Stand Rules
    • Stands protect their users like a guardian, sometimes acting without direct orders from the user.
    • A person can only have one Stand.
    • As a Stand is a part of its user, any damage received will transfer over to the user and vice versa.
    • Stands can only be seen by Stand users, except when their presence takes a physical form.
    • Stands become weaker if they create distance between them and their user.
    • Stands are usually bound to their user, but there are exceptions.
    • As Stands are a manifestation of a user's energy and fighting spirit, they can be shrunk, but the process requires and uses a lot of energy.
  • Most Stands have no goals, obeying a user without question. Those that have a conscience either go wild or possess a personality and can talk to other beings besides their master.
GVS117: Stands also have types and trait categories. Jotaro's old Stand Star Platinum was a close-range Stand. It had the ability to punch thousands of times within seconds and double jump. It then evolved into Star Platinum: The World and became a universal close-range Stand. The difference between the 2 is quite surprising...

Stand Stats
Star Platinum
-Destructive Power: A (Can crush diamond with ease, slice things with Star Finger, or shrink in size.)
-Speed: A (Can throw thousands of powerful punches within seconds.)
-Range: C (Has a maximum effective range of 2 meters.)
-Durability: A (Can tank a splash that shoots emeralds and an exploding steamroller that was crushing Jotaro.)
-Precision: A (Can see farther and more details, catch bullets and other small objects within inches of touching Jotaro, and remove flesh buds with surgical efficiency.)
-Development Potential: A (Not fully evolved, but was self-preserving and reacted to situations on the fly.)
Star Platinum: The World
-Destructive Power: A
-Speed: A
-Range: C
-Durability: E (Dropped down due to mastery of a certain ability.)

-Precision: A
-Development Potential: C (At full evolution, and could only learn so much.)

GVS117: Somehow an evolved state means that you will weaken in some way. How exactly did that happen, Jotaro?

Jotaro: While some traits did spike pretty badly, it's only because of the immense power that was mastered in their place.

Kenshiro: And what would that be?

Jotaro: An ability that I learned from fighting Dio Brando and his Stand, Za Warudo. After being hit with punches comparable to Star Platinum,-

GVS117: Ow...

Jotaro: -Being hit by multiple knives in mid-air,-

GVS117: OW...

Jotaro:-and nearly crushed by a steamroller and having it explode on top of m-

GVS117: OWWWWWW!!!!!!!

Jotaro: Okay, what the hell is happening?

*Another goon jumps out*

Goon: HAHA! You may have killed my brother, but I am not my brother! I have a Stand as well, so you're a slave to my whims, fool!

GVS117: Why are you doing this, and what are you doing?

Goon: The reason doesn't matter, but I will tell you what my Stand is capable of. It allows whatever painful feeling a sentence gives to be inflicted on you as bruises or cuts, as a result of the extremity of the pain descr-

Jotaro: Za Warudo!

*Time Freezes*

Jotaro: You're too pathetic to be talking to anymore.

*Star Platinum: The World pops up*

Star Platinum: The World: ORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORA-ORA!!!!!

Jotaro: Time continues...

*Time Resumes*

Goon: OH MY GOD!!!

Kenshiro: Let's make sure the job's done...

*Hits goon and goon explodes*

GVS117: Wow, a lot of showcasing going around here without explaining it. Thanks, both of you.

Kenshiro: Don't mention it.

Jotaro: Don't worry, we were just picking where we left off, in more ways than one. Anyways, I learned about the ability to stop time, becoming aware of the state's existence more and more as the fight dragged on. Early on, I could only stop time for an average 1 to 2 seconds, maxing out around 5 seconds. Later on when I gained Star Platinum: The World, I was able to make each time stop hit that 5 second limit.

Time Stop
-5 second duration.
-Able to stop the world (no pun intended) by ranging out into space.
-Can be countered if someone becomes aware of its existence.
-Strains the heart, though can be resisted with mastery.

GVS117: That last part seems like a big drawback.

Jotaro: You think I haven't gotten the grip of it? I assure you, you're horrendously mistaken.

Kenshiro: He's got you there.

GVS117: Be glad Star Platinum: The World isn't your only strength. In fact, your natural strength seems pretty impressive by my standards, even if it doesn't come close to Ken's. You just broke a grown muscular man's jaw with a single punch as a kid. You looked around the age of 7 or 8, and you punched him with good pace. What, did you do boxing as a kid?

Jotaro: No, I've always been a brawler.

GVS117: Huh. Anyways, Jotaro's greatest strength lies within his intelligence and cunning. All of the Joestars have this trait, but Jotaro has shown it the most. His calm demeanor also allows him to make risks under immense pressure without even showing so much as a flinch.

Kenshiro: It's about time we got to this part.

Intelligence & Cunning
-Is able to improvise risky plans effectively.
-Deceived Daniel J. D'arby by bluffing and putting him into a state of distress.
-Fooled Telence T. D'arby by having Old Man Joseph play for him secretly.
-Planned ahead while fighting Dio by using a magnet trick and playing dead.
-Utilizes the ultimate Joestar technique: running away.

Kenshiro: Most of the time, I would question that, but I'll just count it as a tactical retreat.

GVS117: Well, as least you're not as battle hungry as Whamu, or else I would probably count that as a weakness for you. Speaking of which, let's cover Jotaro's problems against Kenshiro.

Weaknesses

GVS117: Covering you is a lot more simple, as you stated many problems yourself.

Jotaro: Go ahead and remind us all with a list.

GVS117: Take the fun out of it why don't you...

Advantages & Disadvantages
+Star Platinum: The World can attack in areas Kenshiro can't.
+Jotaro is more clever than Kenshiro.
+Star Platinum: The World can stretch parts of its hands via Star Finger, enabling its close-range style to become a mid-range one.
+Star Platinum: The World has faster reflexes and better mobility.
+Stand is capable of enhancing any of Jotaro's natural attributes.
+/- Star Platinum: The World is a glass cannon, and if damaged, will harm Jotaro.
+/- The time stop is a major double-edged sword.
-If Kenshiro closes the distance, it's all over.
-Is a brawler, and therefore the less skilled fighter.
-Muso Tensei is difficult to deal with, as he never fought Vanilla Ice.

-Has no longe-range attacks.
-Kenshiro's adaptive nature could negate the cleverness factor.
-Awful durability.

GVS117: In spite of all these troubles, Jotaro isn't going to go down without a hell of a good fight. The scars clearly show, as he's survived being the poster boy for 3 story arcs, only to have his life come to an end at the hands of Enrico Pucci. Regardless of this setback, Jotaro still has stood up as the alpha male throughout the series, posing, hiding himself, and being fatherly and fabulous all the way. Jotaro Kujo, the one man who might de-crown the king.

(Jotaro: You truly are the lowest scum in history. You can't pay back what you owe...with money!)
---

Kenshiro: Hm...So that's everything right?

Jotaro: Yeah, you ready?

Kenshiro: When you are...

Kenshiro and Jotaro: Let's g-

GVS117: And now it's time to play trivia everyone!

K&J: WHAT?

GVS117: Did you know, Kenshiro was a major inspiration for Jotaro? It's true! Many traits like appearance and personality eerily mirror each other! Even ATATATA and ORAORAORA are copy-paste battle cries!

K&J: THAT'S NOT TRUE!

GVS117: Yes it is! In fact, Star Platinum himself had his name inspired by the song Platinum by the group North Star! Which I'm sure was inspired by Hokuto Shinken!

K&J: WE'VE HAD ENOUGH! COME HERE!

GVS117: (Please work...) *presses shiny red button on a remote behind his back*

*Gas comes out*

K&J: YOU REALLY THOUGHT THIS WOULD WO-*both grow incredibly sleepy*Wha....Tacos....*Fall asleep*

GVS117: Whoo. That was a close one. Good thing I thought ahead with that sleeping gas. That stuff could knock out 117 men. Pun intended. Welp, time to fix things... *pushes another button on the remote* Ah, sent them back to their own universes. With none of their memories in tact. I love it when a plan comes together. Anyways, with that out of the way, stay tuned for next time, where I pit these two former co-hosts to see who would win in a Death Battle! (I kind of liked the company, oh well. Probably not going to see them again...)

Hello everyone! This is my first prelude ever! Have fun picking out everything you can and see what things that would let you tear me a new one! In all seriousness though, welcome. It is my first time doing this kind of writing, and my first time in general doing a blog-like structure. I hope you enjoy, and if you have some legitimate criticisms or opinions of your own, feel free to share your thoughts in the conveniently placed comment box below.

Credit goes to Death-Driver-5000 for picture template.

All materials belong to their official sources, so Kenshiro belongs to Buronson and Fist of the North Star, Jotaro Kujo belongs to Hirihiko Araki and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and Death Battle belongs to Screwattack. Please support their official releases.

Special mention goes to Madness Abe's prelude of Yu Narukami vs. Jotaro Kujo for parts of my prelude for Jotaro, and the writing styles of Dimension-Dino, Lady-n-Gentlemen, Hakuxtemari, and Zacmariozero. Thanks guys, you've been a big help!

you forget stands can only be hurt by other stands and generally can't be seen by normal people, though ken is hardly normal.
